I can't believe Chihaya lost her match! Megumu got kind of annoying...
I'm so glad they won the team match though! Kudos to Desktomu-kun for bringing in the win!

Hopefully they can win the next match too, winning the tournament!

I saw Chihiya losing this one, she just got behind too early IMO for her style to pay of.

I also saw Porky losing because he was too hung up on facing a girl. Oesan getting the first win was a surprise for me, but, when that happened, I had a good idea how this would end.

Chihaya's been losing all the "important" matches this season, she better win in the finals.

This episode was really tense, but now we have the finals!

That was the only important match she lost. The loss in the prefectural finals wasn't important, she was using it as practice for her new swing technique, ready to take the risk of losing the game to improve it.

And... that's pretty much the only other loss in this season. And I doubt she's going to be losing in either the team finals or anytime before the semifinals of the individual tournament unless she runs into Arata, Shinobu or Megumu before. Because these are pretty much the only 3 opponents strong enough to take her down now.

After losing to Megumu now i doubt the author will make her lose to her in the individual tournament also. So only Arata ans Shinobu count.

Putting aside the fact that I wanted to shoot Megumu's fanboys in the head by about halfway through the episode, it was still very enjoyable to watch the original Mizusawa team pull through what is perhaps their closest team match yet. I'm now lamenting the fact that I only have three episodes left (and I know one is just a recap) until I have to wait each week for an episode like everyone else. Impossibru! D:

Chihaya loses too much.
Good episode though.
I predicted a 5% chance of a kiss scene in the first seson.
This season I'm moving it down to a 2% chance, this anime is bad for any kind of romantic development.

The Queen!

The match was pretty tense still imo. Pretty good match even though it was dragged out a little. I still enjoyed it even with the little emotions added in towards the end there.

Lol how can you not know, don't tell me you don't know how to play karuta, still? Megumu won her match with Chihaya but Chihaya's team won the team match.

Tears of happiness and sadness shed. Happy for Desk-kun, he was awesome there, and I think he has rise to become one of my favorite characters along with Shinobu, Arata, and Sudo :) Sad for the all girls school team, so close.. ):

This was a SUPER intense episode.
I'm pretty content with the outcome, even though Chihaya lost. It was still good expereince for her to play against Megumu!
And hooray for Desktomu! Surprised and pleased with how his luck was in his favor, due to a superstition.
The final playoff will definitely be intense, with the new freshman boy filling in for Oe.

Megumu just had to win, smh.
Chihaya gave it her best, yet she jobs to Megumu. I feel like Chihaya is being made to lose in the big games while her friends step up to win their matches.

Kana-chan at the end.

5/5

Beautiful introspection had on the secondary characters, which I thought were just a side dish, as Megumu.
Plot that puts more focus on the facts, compared to the previous season, as well as on Komano and Oe.
Exciting challenge, it was so tense atmosphere that reigned during the narrative to keep me anxious. Too bad that we have not seen much of the meeting Kanade and the other members of Mizusawa.
At the end of more than a clash between the teams was a clash between the players, which in the end despite winning or losing, the two leaders Megumu and Chihaya were dissatisfied anyway.
Shinobu is irritated by the behavior of Arata, what to try? She is jealous of the relationship between Arata and his childhood friends or more? I'm curious.
However Arata and Shinobu are fun.
Drawings and animations good.
The next will be a big challenge! : D

Very good episode. So intense. Geez, Porky stop losing important matches. Also, I'm so tired of Chihaya losing against tough opponents. It's hightime she won.

It was nice seeing Desktomu triumph. It was so tense between Megumu and Chihaya - I truly had no idea who would win between the two of them. I loved the Taichi X Chihaya moments in this ep - so sweet...

Poor porky always losing 1st in team i dont blame him he always faced tough opponents

Btw that team match was close af that last scene can go in either team but in their next match theres no way they can beat that team they 4-1 hokuo, the team who beat them in very close game.I want Mizusa to lose in finals cuz they are not convincely strong at the moment.

Megumu is really charming this ep she's my fav after the queen shinobu

Mizusawa won, but woah, the tension was so big. :D Awesome battle and the finale is nigh!

Tsukuba is getting more and more annoying with his tryhard attitude, lol. But he was right, consciously not not. Oe-chan is really tired and I doubt they will be able to play in their classic squad.

RIP Chihaya. She lost but it was a close match. I guess I wrongly assumed all of the girls aside from Megumu were at the same level of skill in karuta; it just doesn't feel right for Oe to win and Nikuman to lose.

DAMN look at Desktomu, attacking his opponent's side so confidently in such a heated moment. Man he's so impressive. Next up, Fujisaki!

So it seems like the author didn't stop her nasty habit of shitting relentlessly on certain characters. She basically switched from Taichi to Porky. Dude has been nerfed like crazy! First he lost the fight against that newbie and now against another female because he's deep down sexist ? Is this the author projecting again ???

The match of Chihaya was pretty boring. Mostly because they never really showed anything about Fujisaki before this match which spanned 3 fucking episode(just ridiculous). Good to see that Taichi and Oe San held her up, because she was actually about to fall asleep without seeing the matches of her team mates through.

It was nice to see komano being the star of the episode and good to see that they acknowledge that his data is useful in his actual matches. His data is pretty much flawless, but they always struggle against almost every opponent which kinda contradicts the message the author is trying to convey with a character like komano.

Kinda getting annoyed with tsukaba. He should told the team that he wants to play and not have him forced in to the team by the coach's authority. Don't really know why the author decided to injur Oe. It was quite obvious that she wouldn't play in the next match, because she's basically a angel incarnate who can't say no against a request. Would be nice though if they toned down her weird rethoric of female essentialism behavior.

I’m glad they gave Desktomu a chance to shine in a match. He’s already been a major asset due to his data gathering, but he needed some credit on the mat.

I don’t know why people get so upset when Chihaya loses. I didn’t feel like any of then were illegitimate thus far. It’s clear that’s she’s vastly improved as well. She nearly beat the former Queen and Queen challenger, when Megumi had improved in her own right.

I imagine Chihaya could actually put up a fight against Shinobu now.

WTF is wrong with Nikuman in this season? Was he actually underestimating an an opponent simply because she is a girl, even though he has someone like Chihaya on his team? Why was he acting like some sexist noob who just picked up Karuta?

And I don't mind if Chihaya lost. She is dealing with legitimately strong opponents, and every loss has been a lesson to her that has only made her stronger, by pointing out her own weaknesses and forcing her to overcome them.
