| That bird gives me a Kyubey feel. I always felt this show was a little like Madoka but thankfully not as melancholy. I can't wait until he gets what he deserves, preferably through the power of friendship and light yuri undertones : ) |

| ''Just imagine: Rei's world and the current world were all just universes that branched off Evangelion's universe. In these sets of parallel worlds, the human instrumentality project was never invented and thus Nerv was never created. However, even though Nerv didn't exist, the grandpa managed to discover one of the angels, Lilith, and somehow found a way to use it as energy for the incarnate system. That raven is actually the vessel that holds the soul for Adam, and it's goal is too reach the incarnate engine so it can find a way to end life as we know it. It's only using the "superiors" as a way to scare the humans. In Rei's world, the raven actually succeeded. However, for whatever reason or simply an act of pity, it decided to give Rei a chance in the current world. All though she isn't truly needed, all the raven wants out of Rei is to strengthen the alones to finish the job faster. The raven had no intentions to revive her world but simply kill the current one as well. The end of the series is the beginning of the third impact and each character getting mind fucked by tomatoes.'' |

| I know anime has it's own style- but seriously, when something says "I am the villain, the harbinger of doom, the thumb on the scale to decide your fate and I will insure your destruction." (or some such- I'm paraphrasing) Why doesn't everyone just look at each other, shrug their shoulders, and blast it away? I mean- even the execution happy general should say 'I can shoot a bird- Hell yeah- I got this...' And Rei, who just had revealed both the killer of her parents/world and the string puller of her puppetlike manipulation-- all she does is drop to her knees? No rage or vengeance- just 'I'll sit here stupid-like'. Yeah, she's a bit shocked. Ok, but seriously? Just sit there and be used again? Anyway- this... 'Oh, it's your turn? You want to monologue and upgrade? Ok, you do that- I think I can handle it. How much time do you need? Never mind- I'll wait. I'll just, uh- I'll pretend to be stunned or something...' kind of crap is why anime is laughed at... I mean- you're a writer-- take a second, have your villain put up a barrier. Freeze everyone. Phase shift. Something. Just don't prove _all_ your heroes can be in one room and completely impotent- er incompetent? ineffective? whatever... but that 'Big Gulp' sh!t was kinda funny... I don't know if they wanted to be laughed at there or really have no clue. It's kind of sad actually. Ah well. Finale coming. I do seriously wonder how they're going to wrap this up. | "i want to get even closer to you. because when i met you for the first time, i got a tingling feeling!" so apparently that's akane's coming-out. another great scene was when the military wanted to execute rei and the professor just said "do none of you know the meaning of friendship?" and the next scene started with him saying "human require water, air, light and friendship in order to survive." i guess someone has seen too many anime. goddamnit, old man! you can't solve every problem with the power of friendship, for god's sake. I think that "Manifestor Engine" is a misleading translation. If I am correct (symbv? You out there), they say 次元エンジン (Jigen Enjin), which is more like "Dimensional Engine." Makes the point about Rei being from a "different world" (or maybe a different dimension) make more sense, I think. At least a little. 2. A question for Japanese speakers - so Akane - Aka (red). Aoi - Aoi (blue), Kuroki Rei - Kuro (black), and Momo - Momoiro (Pink). What about Wakaba and Himawari? I know green is Midori and Yellow is Kiiroi, but is there some kind of pun or something that I just don't know about? |

| That ending song... so unfitting it's funny. I have to say, I really was not a fan of this show at the beginning, but it's really grown on me. Hopefully we will get a satisfying ending. |
