| Nice first episode. Enough happened to be interesting but it wasn't an overload of sudden information. I knew about but damn, I didn't expect it to be so obvious even from the first episode. Wonderful animation obviously, as to be expected from Kyoto Animation. Tomoya is very likeable so far and I think I'm going to like his character. Likable MCs are great. This is considerably refreshing, considering a few days ago I finished watching School Days and if you've seen that anime you know how insufferable the MC is. The comedy was good and it fit in the situations. According to some other people on this forum supposedly (at least so far) this has been extremely faithful to the visual novel, which is great to hear because even though I personally have not played the VN, in my opinion, when something closely follows the source material it has a higher change of actually ending up good... I might be slightly biased in my expectations for this anime because love Kyoto Animation, but so far I think it's solid. Again it's only the first episode, that can drastically change. I don't know why but I'm a fan of the large, "bug eye" (as people call it) art style and I think that Clannad is doing it nicely so far. Besides the point... Looking forward to this anime!! I've loved everything I've watched from this studio. |

| i mean it was fine. not too bad for a first episode. but the jokes were just stupid. so far none of the characters seem likeable to me though. hasn't left an effect wanting me to watch more. i gotta admit the ED is great though ~ |

Thank you MAL for keeping track of how much I watched this years ago, apparently I watched eight episodes. I might have posted in this forum already about my thoughts back then, but I honestly forgot most of this, and definitely forgot whatever's coming next. My old opinion here is definitely outdated. Shame I can't change that, I'd probably give it at least a 4/5, this episode. I enjoyed it! Maybe it's because I can kind of find it more relatable now, but I found it nice, and I definitely laughed my ass off at the dad character (the girl's dad), not realising the protagonist's a guy until a while later was heaps good, and the name changing stuff, that was funny. The girl seems like a really nice character, who reminds me of one of the people I'm closest to, and the protagonist guy's relatable (for me, in his honest but also joking nature) and likable. His interactions socialising with the girl (I don't remember either of their names yet either, haha) was definitely something that struck a bit of nostalgia for my last years of school. Enjoyable watch, looking forward to seeing the rest of the series, definitely skipping that gay ass ending though, pffff. |

| My only gripe are the eyes......damn this art style takes some getting used to. Only Okazaki looks good. I really like the direction. It’s definitely unique. I like how the dialogue overlaps & how the scenes transition, comedy is good as well. Characters are pretty interesting, I can tell I’ll really like Okazaki. |

| I decided to start watching this cuz I heard it's good and it got recommended to me and I want to actually watch what people recommend to me. Nice first episode. I am digging the characters so far. That girl with the silver hair would fit right into Tokyo Revengers. |
| Getting those same eerie "You won't like this, and you know it deep down" vibes that I got watching Kanon. Hope I'm wrong, and that this becomes something I get some value out of watching. EDIT FROM THE FUTURE: Keep an eye out for my posts as the series went on, my opinion managed to swing from 4/10 to 9/10, it got really good. |

| I dropped this around two years ago, probably around episode 10 or so. I remember finding it rather boring. But time and time again I see Clannad After Story pop up in various places, usually being proclaimed as what is probably the most emotionally moving piece of work in anime. Whenever there's a discussion on which anime made an individual cry the most, this is almost always certainly brought up. So I'm going to do it, finally. I'm going to power through this and reach the peak. And it seems like I won't have to power through it at all. The amount of anime I have watched since dropping this is quite substantial, it may very well be nearly 300 separate entries since then, and I can say with confidence that I have developed an acquired taste. And this.... yeah this pretty good. I remember finding it boring, annoying even. But now, I actually really appreciate all this. Man, I can't wait to properly and fully experience Clannad, and Clannad After Story. I'll see you at the end. |

| I swear to god I thought the girl was some ghost that only Tomoki could see after that off-hand comment from some random students. All the time when those two were talking I was just sitting here scared like how is it looking to other people when Tomoki is just talking to himself. Later the stuff with parents happened and I breathed a sigh of relief. Every part of this anime is screaming moe and I love it. Though I gotta admit all the girls look same bruh, it's so hard to distinguish, it would have been impossible without the height difference for me lol. That aside, every character looks super pretty, even the girl's dad and Tomoki are very good looking, I could only hope to look like them. Maybe it's the art style but it's really good. No need to talk about animation, it's top class especially as I'm watching the BD version, it's looking really good. Lost the count of times I felt like giving the FMC a hug, she's so smol and cute, must protecc, she' a full kawai package, cute hair, cute voice, cute everything. I can already see her becoming best girl and it's just episode 1. 5/5. |

| Pretty good introduction of characters. i am watching it for the first-time after hearing all the praises especially for Clannad: After Story. i am hoping watching this 24 episode anime series will be a good starting point and hopefully it will be worth it. Also MC is my type of character not cringy and beta male so it is a plus point too. |

| I didn't expect to feel as much nostalgia as I did deciding to rewatch this. I remember thinking this show was good, and I have fond memories, but just one episode back in and I'm wondering if this is in a place closer to my heart than I originally thought. When the ending started the amount of psychic damage hit like a ton of bricks. It was genuinely like the shock of jumping into ice water. I can already tell I'm going to cry so much harder this go through than my first. Gah this show is so cute! |
