I have been waiting for it to be animated since I bought its vol.1 long time back !!

I hope they keep the color palette used in the manga, which shows the sunny countryside in such a charming way.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

The hair designs are a bit unusual. Wonder if the cute messy lookwill translate to the anime well.

Looks like Comic Alive overwhelmingly does manga adaptations of light novels and games/visual novels, rather than original manga. So I haven't seen many adaptations of original manga from that magazine. Although it did publish Sasameki Koto, which is pretty great.

Actually Comic Alive used to have as many original manga as adaptation but now it has slightly more adaptation (though not yet reaching overwhelming proportion yet). And don't forget MariaHolic which is the most well-known original manga from Comic Alive adapted into anime. And then there is Asamade Jugyou-chu too, and in near future we'll have Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge as well.

Admittedly nowadays the idea is media-mix, so those manga adaptations mostly come as some follow-up auxiliary projects to go with the anime, and this type of manga may be easier to sustain as there is sponsor already.

I guess it does not have something you would call "plot" anyway. It is a slice-of-life comedy with a lot of funny little episodes anyway. I can imagine that in a remote countryside where a school has only a couple of students and they are all at different ages, things can get quite different compared to people like us who live in big crowded city. The shift in perspective is one of the main appeals of this work I'd say.

And there should be more coming. At least this one has some variation: a rural setting and a class of students of vastly different ages.

I kinda thought it had to do with the Gyagu Manga Biyori series, which would have been awesome.

But after the initial disappointment this doesn't look too bad. The seinen tag is hopefully not only there because of horrible amounts of sexual fanservice (I've had bad experiences, lol), but it doesn't seem to. The setting sounds nice too and I'll probably pick it up, be it 3 or 20 minutes per episode.

As slice-of-life genre relies a lot on interaction of characters, this uncommon setting should provide some different perspective compared to other "seinen series about the slice of life of little girls". Besides, it is not clear how much the label "seinen" helps to show what kind of work this series is. It just happens to be serialized in a seinen magazine but its contents can go in a shounen magazine too.

It is on a seinen magazine, for goodness sake. It does not mean its contents is what your biased understanding of what seinen manga indicates. Besides not only part of the cast are in elementary school age.

Yeah, this is no variation if you just shut up your mind and keep your stubborn bias that anything with moe equals to shit. LOL

Seinen manga

AKA manga targeted at grown adult men.

Perhaps I'd be more open to this if there were some sort of father character who was the main character, who had to take care a bunch of cute girls. Then I could see it being relatable to adult men.

But seeing as there is no such character, this is not really much different than some guy sitting outside of an elementary school with binoculars to catch glimpses of cute little girls.

Whatever his intentions may be, it's creepy as fuck.

EDIT: Actually, there seems to be some sort of "older brother" character. So perhaps I misspoke.

How do you know there is no such character? There are grown-up character in this manga. It is a school after all. Besides there are older characters as well as male character. Your perception is just partial and biased.

It is more like your mind is creepy as fuck not the manga itself because you just have to relate a manga having some elementary school girls in it serialized in a seinen magazine to some creepy intention.

No, I related a manga about little school girls aimed at men, to men watching actual little school girls.

Well, there are many manga about little girls in all kinds of seinen magazine because a seinen magazine can have a variety of themes and subjects and not all have contents only an adult can read. Also these days a seinen magazine is read by a lot of women or high teens as well, so the magazines would also try to cater to their taste too. This is why shounen and seinen division is blurring. Jump Square for example has the extremely fan-service-ish ToLoveRu Darkness but it also has manga about "little school boys" which is Tegami-bachi. Should I now worry and feel creepy about this Tegami-Bachi manga then?

It is easy to see why. Just because it is serialized in Comic Alive, which is listed as a seinen magazine. That's it. People are making some implication about its contents by adding "seinen" to its description, which to me is entirely misleading and ill-intentioned.

Why watching characters in an animation is the same as watching real life people I must ask?

According to your profile you are a 18-19 year old adult. Please tell me you don't need the difference between reality and fiction explained. I like be to be able to give people at least that much benefit of the doubt.

True, but that's beside the point, after all the "creepy" stuff and weird crap japan publishes, we can safely establish that this is fairly normal as far as their "weird" standards go.

Well, i think "weird" does have some kind of negative connotation. It's "weird" to our standard perhaps, but not any weirder than other places. Example: Amercian's fascination with guns, Indian's body piercing, French and their sexual liberty, etc.

I think Westerners have this warped image of what "Seinen" is, and think its only really violent stuff like Berserk or Psycho Pass... when in fact, most moe shows also fall under Seinen. All Seinen means is that the main target audience are adult men, nothing more. And adult men tend to like girls.
