neontaster said: Looks kinda prequel-ish, no? She looks much younger here. Kinda reminds me of Re-L from Ergo Proxy, actually. http://getnews.jp/archives/283948 Forget what I said earlier. Now that I saw the whole image I kinda like this younger look, and from the looks of her design the rest of the characters will have that quality which looks great. But it's missing Kanno. |

She looks like a cross between Kaneda from Akira and Balot from Mardock Scramble. |

Well at least is a decent enough look but is certainly a downgrade to SAC Motoko. Hair too colorful etc and she kind of looks younger. Like a character from Mai Hime or something. That certainly ain't better than this. http://wallpoper.com/images/00/40/90/74/motoko-kusanagi_00409074.jpg http://wallpoper.com/images/00/40/89/68/motoko-kusanagi_00408968.jpg Oh! well if the plot and scenario is decent i guess we can live with it. Maybe she would look better when we see her actually moving and being animated. Hope the rest of the cast won't turn to bishounen boys etc cause am gonna throw things at my screen. |

Oshii's Ghost in the Shell Movies = Philosophical Sci-fi Oshii's ideas + Kenji Kamiyama's Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex Series = Political Sci-fi + a lot of study on social structure + yep, a lot of indepth message for us fucking humans so they basically want a "new turn" by having Tow Ubukata, still very neutral with this i just hope it won't turn into just a "sci-fi coated" action series let's see them create another Laughing Man let's see them create another Hideo Kuze let's see them create another Puppeteer |

GitS are some big shoes to fill. But I'd also imagine that the GitS fanbase won't exactly go nuts for something sub par, no? They really got to make a sincere effort for this to be successful just because of the greatness it will be compared to. At least I hope so. |

I saw the thread title and 'Hallelujah!' At least there's some respite from 'moe' news. Then I saw the character design... My waifu turned semi-loli moe. Just the same, nirvana came this morning with this news. |

name93 said: A Prequel would be nice. Her life-story from 2nd Gig was kinda lame. Character design looks like a fusion of movies Major and SAC Major. I disagree. To me, the episodes focusing on her back story were some of the best stuff from 2nd Gig. Anyway, I'm gradually getting more excited about this. I think Neontaster is probably on to something here. And, I'm sure some GiTS fans had some trepidation when SAC came out....hopefully we'll get another great rendition. A unique take like someone previously mentioned. |

I was hoping for 3rd gig, but I'll give it a go regardless. It'll still probably end up being really good even if it is some sort of reboot (how can you fuck up GitS?) |

Still need to watch the Movies and Standalone Complex but you can count me in. However tragic it might be, it would be so funny if the finished product was overloaded with modern anime clichés. It would be so full of moe, lolicon and panty shots that it would make Strike Witches look like Fist of the North Star. |

And by movie, obviously 1995. PIG really likes to fuck things up with their CG/3D shit. They should learn and start using it only on vehicles and other environment. Looking forward to this being a whole new different story. Wow, your taste sucks. SAC Motoko rules, that's for sure. |

Well, the (first) manga involved most of the 90s clichés. It had a spunky, mischievous bisexual dyke protagonist, chibi mecha, the wide eyed rookie, the uber-terminator and the group mascot animal (Aramaki, almost a bona fide monkey). I guess if Shirow were allowed to adapt his work to anime all on his own, we would either get a kawaii black comedy or a hentai. |

If you wanna imagine how it could look like you need not look further than psycho-pass. That said all the wishes and jokes for moe only scream butt-hurt from some, perhaps realizing your moe is in decline after the industry as a whole re-boots older anime? You often see this trends in many industries, in which older stuff and trends become the center again. Nudity and the Major panties, probably we can expect it but it has never been fanservice as we know and perceive it today. refer back to psycho-pass the the bath scene (or the scene in which Akane´s friend undresses) which many used to say hey it has fanservice! |

And then there are anime that male and female find a lot to feel moe about: KuroBas, Kimi ni Todoke. BUT this a a 100% production IG anime, it has hardly -practically never- reached and catered to the hordes of moe fans. 9988 said: Yeah, I look no further than Psycho-Pass to see moe exists there too. If anything, it seems moe also took root in the rebooted franchise too. That said all the wishes and jokes for moe only scream butt-hurt from some, perhaps realizing your moe is in decline after the industry as a whole re-boots older anime? So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

This moe conversation made me lol. Imagine them turning Motoko into a moe blob that says "eeeeehh" and "kyaaaa" a lot. If that will be the case, I'll just pretend this new GITS installment doesn't exist and move on (in addition I'd hope the person responsible will die a horrible death). But it's not gonna happen (God forbid). |
