So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

From the images it looks like the Major has undergone a re-design, and the writer is the guy responsible for the script of Soukyuu no Fafner.

I am totally okay with this.

Hmmm... The Chief Director (implying there are other directors?) is Kazuchika Kise, who is the Animation Director for Ghost in the Shell (the movie, not the TV anime) but never worked as a director before. He is also a senior executive of Production I.G.

The screenplay is by Tou Ubukata, who is the author of the original novel of Soukyuu no Fafner and participated in the screenplay work for its anime as well. However, he seems to be much more a novel writer than anime screenplay writer.

Movie or series, I don't care. I just hope that Production I.G. has a good reason for giving the direction to someone other than Kamiyama (does anybody know of any specific reasons?). If you look at Kamiyama's general output (S.A.C., seirei no moribito, Higashi no Eden) and the vast directorial improvement between the two S.A.C. seasons, it is unclear why he does not seem to be involved with this.

What does Oshi's films have to do with anything? People are probably commenting about the third installment in the S.A.C. universe being the S.S.S. movie rather than a full season, nobody talked about Oshi.

this is generally another "spin-off" for the franchise

I think you should look up the word "plebs" and what it means. Say what you want about SAC, but opium for the masses it wasn't. It's one of the most intelligent shows I know.

Then I saw the director wasn't Kamiyama Kenji. :A:

AmberFebruary said:

And nothing really on the new director and composer. Don't know any of their works. ><

But I will still watch...
I love the franchise too much.

Ugh. Seeing the visuals... I don't like it. Doesn't give off the right feeling. ><
I will watch... but expectations are much lower than when I saw "New Ghost in the Shell anime" topic name.

HELL YES!!!!
As good as the SAC series were, I'd prefer a feature film, simply because it would allow for better animation. Not that a TV series by I.G. would look bad, far from it, but films still have better visuals.

Kazuchika Kise is better known as an animator, this will be his second directorial work. At the very least he'll have the contacts to gather a team of amazing animators. Staff list seems a bit risky, but I'm all for a new take on the franchise.
