| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ----------------------------------------  Not bad for the first episode imo. Honoka is so cheerful from the beginning scenes skipping around like that! Anyways, a lot of music involved including singing, piano, etc. Little Honoka and the others were also cute as kids. Also, dat ending song. |

| This should be called love live the musical instead. It's been half a year since I've waited for this, and it finally arrived. That wait was worth it. It brought smile to my faces. The animation and art designs are top notch. The animation is so smooth and fluid. The colors are rich and bright. The CG aren't bad. The girls are cute and pretty. Honoka is cute and cheerful girl, while Umi, is one pretty girl. It's cute, it's funny, and its musical. Definitely going to watch this from start to finish. I wonder why Niko is disguising herself? 13 episodes feels so short for me... |
| I like the wide range of music used in this episode. Nice start for this. I can't help but get Tari Tari vibes with the school being threatened to shut down. |

| The character design is not that all bad, the story is little interesting. I never hear about a School idol before. Honoka have a nice personality that will make everyone join her and help her with school idol project. The pace is neither slow or fast but will that be enough to cover 13 episodes. Even thought Eri denied Honoka and the rest to start a school idol, I actually think she will try do something. Honoka can be pushy but giving up is not an option for what we can see on the next episode. Opening & Ending is quite nice - Thumbs up :) |

| Like everyone is saying, the overall animation is nice. The only thing I didn't like was the characters' shadows in the zoomed out CG dancing part. It just bothers me to see only shadows under their feet. (I guess that I'm asking a bit much). |

| The CG on its own is not bad but goddamn it really does not blend well with the episode. It is just too damn noticeable and it really kills the series for me if its going to continue like this. |

Perhaps they can stick to one or the other during a scene? |

| The CG is significantly better than what's in AKB0048. It doesn't look nearly as terrible or awkward. It's just a shame they couldn't do it all with regular animation like in iM@S. |

I agree with you in terms of the CG looking far better than AKB0048; not that I have anything against AKB0048 since I enjoy that series very much. But for idol anime in general, I think it's more unusual to see a full animation with non-CGs only because there are so many complicated movements required in dancing. It's just overall easier and more cost efficient, I suppose, for the animation companies to switch from CG to regular animation again. I mean, this is only my speculation since they seem to do a lot of transitions between the CG and animation in other idol shows like Aikatsu for example as well. Or maybe I'm thinking too hard into this and people just enjoy the CGs more. Either way, I think this series was very enjoyable to watch, and the CGs for this series was much better blended in than others despite the flaws. |

| This is my first time watching idol shows...and I'm so in great dilemma to keep watching or not. They're cute, yes..but... I can't watch too many shows even though I want to. Uh... Dammit, I'll try again next episode. |

Idolmaster is idolmaster, and Love Live is Love Live. You have to watch the episode yourself to actually know how good this is. But since this just the first episode, there's still a lot of development. And who know's this could be as good as im@s or better. To know that, is to watch the whole series. imho. | The songs are catchy and the girls are really cute! Yet, I can't help question the animators of the combination of traditional and CG during the song parts. The CG is great but it gets quite distracting with the sudden switch of CG to tradition then tradition to CG , but if it helps save money then go for it! At the least the key parts of the dances are not CG ^^ |

| Maily watching this because I love Anime Soundtrack/J-Pop, so this is a must watch for me. Strange to see these fluent animations, but enjoyable. Story seems to be okay, but this is not even my main focus lol. |

| I wasn't expecting anything special here... but it's a pleasant surprise. Sure just another idol anime but it was fun. Honoka is another positive thinking idiot but she's charming. And that archery practice was hilarious. And no problems with CG - as told better than AKB but above all they are not interrupting. For sure will be following it. |

| One of the best 1st eps i've seen, the CG blended well in a number of places, the music is damn good and the animation..... i already planned on watching it when i saw sunrise but they really outdid themselves. |
