| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ----------------------------------------  It definitely reminded me a bit of Spice and Wolf but I enjoyed it. I lol'd when Yuusha meets the Demon Queen. Dem meetings. The backgrounds reflect a fantasy like feeling with the city, snow, lake, etc. I think it matched this series well. I had to face palm myself a few times when watching Yuusha but otherwise, I enjoyed this episode. Oh, I think these two are going to be fun to watch :3 |

| I really enjoyed the first episode. I got a bit worried because I thought there'd be a fanservice focus, but all the EXPOSITION got rid of those fears. I didn't like the opening theme, but the ending theme was excellent. Fuku Jun does a great job here, as expected, but the rest of the voice cast is top notch as well. The character designs work very well in motion, as I expected. They just don't look good when on a static promo image. I do hope we'll get straight into the economics next time. |

| I like the feeling of OP. So Maou's been changed 43 times? lol their interactions, for example: "Be mine", "I refuse (immediately)!" Wow, HiroC's character appearing immediately! Hirakawa-prince? The visions from the memories are interesting. Interesting, travelling partner for going beyond war zone. Mysterious feeling from ED, so nice. A question: Why do you guys say it resembles Spice and Wolf? Is that because the same seiyuu combo (Wolf is Koshimizu-san, correct? Like Maou?)? |

| A really well done intro episode to the world of this show, I liked that the Demon King was trying to hammer the point in that there are no good/bad sides in the war; only grey. She even says she's done some bad things and will have to do more bad things to end the war so even the Demon King is no exception. I'll let it slide though since she' s not only hot but funny as well with her somewhat childlike demeanor. Her memory of making out with the pillow is probably the best example of this. I really like how she's focused when it comes to making her dream a reality but also has a lighter side to her otherwise. When she took of the horns to play to the expectations of what a Demon King should look like I laughed for how smart/funny that was. The production values of this show are actually quite pleasant except for the CG use in a couple of scenes which made laugh for how PS2 era it was. I also quite liked the OP and ED of this show, surprised the fanservice was restrained as much as it was considering it is an ARMS show after all. They did use her breasts but it was more subtle than their previous works and they tried to up her cuteness. bastek66 said:  "Jiiiii(starrreeee)" Always gets me X D |

| Maou's "practice" and headband were funniest part of it. Sooo it's fanserwicey, bouncy but surprisingly smart series - with all that background and showing how world works, plus all those characters. Adorable characters - both our simpleton Hero and Maou, she is smart, know her role but childish part adds some charm. Pleasant surprise I can say :) |
| Didn't even know about this one. Watched it 100% blind. My first reaction was "eww some lame ass fantasy shit" but it went better than expected. Some nice Visuals and really good soundtrack as well as OP and ED. The OP sounds like it is sung by the one that sung Steinsgate opening or am I mistaken? |

| Starts off as a generic rpg but quickly turns into something good when our male MC with a messiah complex is confronted with the harsh reality by our Demon King. Who is an adorable woman by the way. Really glad she's smart too, and not just there for her cow tits. Love her voice. Fantastic first episode, I hope it keeps up with this quality. |

| That was great ep. liked it even a little bit more, that "Kotowaru"-manga version. Maou was really cute, but Yuusha kinda sucked. I was expecting fantasy-ish opening, but ending was totally magnificent. Reminded me a little of Sigur Ros. Well, good start for the series. Totally looking forward to it! |

| This was a really good first episode i liked it just as much as the first chapter of the manga (though it has been a while since i read the first manga chapter so maybe even better?) Of course i read this version of the manga http://myanimelist.net/manga/26441/Maoyuu_Maou_Yuusha_-_Kono_Watashi_no_Mono_Tonare_Yuusha_yo_Kotowaru Watching the opening though there was 1 scene that i noticed that does not even happen in the manga till chapter 21 (the most recently translated chapter) and this anime is listed down as 12 episodes, is that comfirmed? because each manga chapter is jam packed and quite long and with the first anime episode to go by with pacing i would say they can not make it to chapter 21 in 12 episodes. Even if they could make it to that point in 12 eps i hope they dont because it would be to rushed and ruin it. |

| Wowowowow, Totally surpassed my expectations :D After reading the manga and seeing how the art will be in comparison for the anime I was a bit disappoint from the pv...but this episode got me freakin hyped :D And Maou is KAWAIIIIIIIIIII!!!! Jiiiiiiiiiiiii! XD |

| Haha I really enjoyed that! Very nice comedy and characters. Also the same seiyuu as the main chast in Spice and Wolf. I was immediately shocked by the boys voice at first because I just watched an episode of Code Geass as well XD Well, I have no idea where this is going to, but I am excited. Also, the only thing I didn't like about the girl's looks was removed at the end :-D 8/10 for now. |

| Been waiting years for S&W season 3, but meanwhile this show ain't bad at all! Some good comedy and background story, and hoping for more witty dialogue between the leads throughout the series. Maou seems smart and likeable (kissing practice and flabby arms!), but I wonder if she gets tired moving around so much with dat chest! |

| I ike the uplift atmosphere and humorous tongue-in-cheek storytelling despite the show tackling some serious topics. The Background art looks really nice as well. The shift in narratives seemed odd at first but it provided useful insight on what other prominent characters' thoughts are and how the war between demons and humans gets capitalized. |

| Why does she have the same voice actor as Holo? This is only making me like the mc from this anime even more. <3 Though the huge breasts are definitely unnecessary. I wonder if this is going to be good, it totally gives me feels of 24-episode anime even though it's only going to have 12. |

| I liked this episode a lot. The Demon Queen was so delightful and I liked the humour. The background art was nice though not the best ones I've seen, but it works in this kind of series well. The opening song and main theme were also nice. |

| Watched it. And I raise a question - how is this fun? Cause really, now it's only a dumb couple doing uninteresting things - "dotei" and a lustful bitch, seen this way too many times. I hope it improves, much. And no - please don't compare this to Spice and wolf - totaly different vibe. |

| A good pilot episode to start the 2013 year. Maou sounds much cuter than I pictured. It really does resemble Spice and Wolf in both characters and plot, which is a good thing considering how enjoyable the other show is. |
