I will always prefer a good dub. Mushishi is excellent. Travis suits Ginko's part really well.

Havnet seen the dub, but the sub is excellent. Ginko's voice has been done with near flawlessness, and is easily among the best VA performances in my mind. That said, Camer138's post makes me feel like I should check out the dub version as well.
"...our faces marked by toil, by deceptions, by success, by love; our weary eyes looking still, looking always, looking anxiously for something out of life, that while it is expected is already gone – has passed unseen, in a sigh, in a flash – together with the youth, with the strength, with the romance of illusions.” - Joseph Conrad ('Youth')

I'm glad you didn't listen to the subs-only closed minded weeaboo tards.

Well apparently Ginko is voiced by a woman in japanese (someone should fix that).

The dub is very good, so if you prefer hearing english then you won't be disappointed.

The main difference is Ginko is a pretty subtle guy in japanese, it's hard to get a good grip on his character which makes him a little more mysterious.

In english he comes off a little more casual and laid back, so it's a little different but not a bad take.

When in doubt, just watch both and see which you prefer (or just watch both because the show is worth watching multiple times).

No he's voiced by a man. If you mean why there's two Japanese VAs for him, one male and one female. Children are usually played by women in anime, so that's probably him when he was a kid.

I didn't click the "more characters" so I didn't see it hah. Someone should still fix it so you see his main voice actor first on the front page.

The dub for this series was great, had no complaints. I find Ginko's english voice to be spot on.

are shows that contain very impressive dubs, can the close minded sub elitists stop being such cynics once in a while?

You will miss out on Yuko Nakano's only main VA role. How could you do that to yourself *_*

As a rule I always watch subs. Once I've finished a series I go back and watch a few dubbed episodes (if I can bare the bad voice acting). As for Mushishi, the dub isn't that bad, but you should still watch the sub.

Go listen to Baccano's dub all you weeaboos then you will realize that dubs can be superior to subs.

I do agree with him to some extent actually. Baccano's dub is pretty good, but then again, I'd prefer the sub in that case only because its easier to keep track of the plot when I read (my memory just works that way, easier to remember things that I read compared to things that I listen to). I actually started Baccano with subs, switched to dubs half way through with the subtitles still turned on lol.

Another excellent example is Cowboy Bebop; I have always thought that CB and champloo are two anime that were made with English speaking audience in mind as well, which is one reason their dub is vastly superior compared to other dubs, and more thematically appropriate at times compared their subbed versions (debatable opinion of course)

I will always go for subs cuz im deaf, oh yeah, spanish dub are hard to hear, u cant even read their lips, and spanish VA are veryyyyyyyyyy bad, so i prefer sub above dub, doesnt matter if the show are in english or spanish, the english is more confused to hear, maybe that im not american or english or whatever afterall.
If you can hear very well, u can decide 4 yourself which you like more.

Good luck

I watched half of the episodes in sub and rest dubbed.
I can say, both are really good and you shouldn't regret either ways.
I personally was a bit more tilted towards sub due to the whole Japanese theme of the show. But there were many episodes where I had to multitask or was a bit sleepy to read subs or just wanted to stare at the beautiful backgrounds where I switched to dubs.

Ginko's voice suits well in both. And you're in for a great time either ways. Enjoy.
