I agree with you a little bit. The more boyish-sounding voice from the 1998 fighting game seemed like it was a better fit for the character's trickster personality than the deep, masculine voice they gave him here. I especially loved the way the 1998 voice said lines like: They were so awesome, and sounded like I imagined they would. ^_^ I'm not sure how Sugita's deeper voice is going to sound in Joseph's sillier moments, comparatively. But, I know that for a lot of male viewers, deep voice = perfect voice, so maybe it's for the best. xD Anyway, this episode was an awesome introduction to the character, and I can already tell that this story arc's adaptation is about to blow every newcomer's expectations out of the water. It's going to be fun reading their impressions for the coming months. =) |

| Holy crap Tomokazu Sugita as Joseph Joestar is PERFECT!! The inflections in his voice matches Joseph's arrogant attitude to a tee. I only wish the animation could keep up with Sugita's voice, you'll see Joseph talking with only his mouth moving but the emotions through the words coming out are changing constantly. As a character, I'm really digging Joseph moreso than Jonathan, I know we just met him and all but he made one hell of a first impression. How the hell was he able to hide a Tommy Machinegun in his jacket LMFAO. WTF moment for me of the episode X D "TAXI TAXI!!" Sugita's engrish gets me as always Why did Speedwagon have to die!? : ( No more epic whining and commentary from our favorite oil baron. I'm just so pumped for this arc and more GAR then ever. When Roundabout started playing and we saw the new artwork showing Jonathan "passing the torch" Joseph that was a good moment. This episode overall had some really good artwork/ soundtrack with the Pillarmen and New York respectively. Even the episode preview sounds badass |
| I am glad everyone is loving Joesph Joestar. He was my favorite character on MAL as soon as I finished Battle Tendency. Things are ONLY going to get better from here. You might doubt this. You might doubt, how hiding a Tommy gun in his jacket can be beat, but it is. Next episode is going to be one of the best. I think by the end of Battle Tendency, everyone is going to be screaming at the top of their lungs with manliness. |

| And I thought Jonathan was a badass, Joseph may just be an even bigger one. His antics are hilarious and I just love the contrast between him and his nicknamesake. Brilliant episode once again, all these years of curiousity I never imagined JJBA would be this good. Poor speedwagon RIP old boy. |

I know what you mean, and I didn't really mind the voice acting, but I thought the character's face looked too calm most of the time. But it's not a big deal, this is looking so damn good so far. I wasn't sure about Part 1, but oh boy... |

| I'm excited to see how Joseph's plot will play out - after the amazing ending of Jonathan in episode 9 and the mindblowing introduction of Joseph in episode 10. It can only get better and BETTER!! =D |

At least you know what is happening, like the baby eating a few episodes back. Whereas in Fate/Zero the camera would completely pan away from a screen so you didn't know wtf was going on. That was terrible censoring that really hurt the experience. Then again, I'm not exactly sure how violent Part 5 is. |
