Hope this is the right section. Read the rules. I'm not gonna use article links except for one of my youtube videos in link. make Bullying illegal pt1/2 make Bullying illegal pt2/2 --- yeah, I didn't make my video with statistics or pro-like. I just mostly gave my opinion Should Bullying Become Illegal? I was a victim of bullying. Especially in high school, which includes grade 10 and 11 because they were my worst years. Btw, I live in Canada and I'm 17 years old right now. I'll explain how I feel about it and my experience of getting bullied later since I gotta go to work soon. For all the haters out there or people who say no. I'm just gonna say if you haven't been bullied yourself or a serious experience about it then you clearly don't understand how serious it actually is. - edit - If you read every page you'll see how my feelings change on making bullying illegal. And from saying that, I've come to the conclusion that its too complicated to make bullying illegal. I think one of the best pages is 11 till the end. But I still think it'd be best to at least make some kind of "anti-bullying" policy/program of some sort. Modified by waalex11, 01-30-13, 9:43 AM ![]() |

... seriously? Because why the hell not? Bullying is a very serious thing. And it does have bad consequences and affects to the victims; depression, drug/alcohol, suicide, school shootings, revenge to kill, etc. Don't worry. I'll make Bullying illegal one day. You'll see. ![]() |

Everyone at one time in their life or another has been bullied, and most of us understand it quite well. Bullying shouldn't be illegal, but there are shouldn't be any ramifications for punching a bully in the face either. |

If it's anything physical beyond a friendly nudge, then it already is illegal. I'm not an expert on the technicalities of assault laws, but can't pretty much any one sided physical violence, no matter how mild, be classified as assault? If you mean verbal bullying, it's very, very difficult to know where to draw the line, so an attempt to make that illegal just wouldn't work. Yeezus walks. |

Being bullied means you're half the problem. Stop blaming other people for what you bring on yourself. |

Bullies don't continue bullying you if you do just about anything to stop it or stop giving them reasons to. Just about no bully 'victims' ever do anything but whine, complain, mope, and say how they will 'get back at them someday' while being bullied and after. They very very very rarely stand up for themselves or change the pathetic shit they were doing prior that got them bullied to begin with. Every single victim of bullying just gives excuses and reasons they cant do anything about it - like it's out of their hands. No way can they better themselves or at least fight back (even if only in the form of not letting them push you down to the point of being a pathetic whiny cunt) They have no self esteem and that ALONE is enough to put 50% of the blame onto them. If you have no self esteem you deserve to get pushed around and treated like shit, if you don't respect yourself don't expect anyone else to. If you're getting bullied and doing nothing about it chances are you're gonna be even MORE fucked once you actually enter the real world, because clearly you think nothing of yourself - and you'll keep getting squashed for it in one form or another. This thread just proves it further and I'm sure all the responses to me will continue doing so. It doesn't make me wrong just because you refuse to accept your lack of respect for yourself, lack of self esteem, and lack of drive to fight adversity is the reason you get treated bad. You'll just keep finding scapegoats and other things and people to blame for your shortcomings - and that's why you'll never be a worthwhile human being. |

I would reply to you seriously (although, you do in fact sound furious), but you're oblivious to so many factors that it'd be a waste of time to attempt to reason with you. But just because I'm curious: 1. What if the reasons they are being bullied, is out of their scope of change? eg; sexuality, parents, physical appearance, intelligence, etc 2. What if they are not being bullied alone (thus cannot fight back)? EDIT: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=501633&show=0#msg17559679 You talk so strongly of kids who are bullied that it seems likely that you were bullied yourself. Or perhaps you bullied whilst at school? Who knows, either way, clearly you haven't grown up since then. Modified by Trapalicious, 12-06-12, 3:21 PM |

Bullying is very hard to define and if it does become illegal, everyone would have gotten a criminal record already. Post-Josh said: If it's anything physical beyond a friendly nudge, then it already is illegal. If you mean verbal bullying, it's very, very difficult to know where to draw the line, so an attempt to make that illegal just wouldn't work. Gesturing while verbally threatening to apply violence can also classify under assault. It's pretty ridiculous... As a child, I was told that society is a melting pot of talents; knowledge and experience combined to form important alloys that will contribute to mankind. When I got to highschool, however, I thought that it's more like a river in which the water represents our peers while we ourselves are the stones in the river. Constant erosion by mindless majority sheeping has made us lose our unique edge. After I hit the age of 18, I realized that I've been wrong all along. Society is no melting pot. Society is no river. Society is a person, a very skilled rapist, and he has fucked us all. |
