Im quite torn between the two; Haru is quite the character at times, but now I catch myself rooting for Yamaken more than Haru, thus I voted for Yamaken. IMO, he's quite cute and charming^^ Even still, I do feel bad for Haru! >.< I'm like 49% for Haru and then 51% for Yamaken. Though I feel like sje's going to end up with Haru! Makes me sad for Yamaken >.< But then if she ends up with Yamamen, I'll feel sad for Haru! Yup, totally torn between the two!

Yamaken.

I liked Haru more at first, but as the series progressed, I found him to be annoying, whiny, needy, extremely violent and childish. He needs to grow the fuck up before he enters a relationship of any kind, especially with a girl like Mitty.

Haru is just better.

Yamaken moves out of the way of Haru's punches so that they hit Shizuku.
Not very noble.

Haru! Does there really need to be a poll? I mean, obviously. Haru. Cause... common! ... it's Haru....

I couldn't agree more; I understand that Haru needs to restrain himself from indulging his violent tendencies, but I don't understand those that actually suggest those unintentional moments he actually hits Shizuku is even slightly indicative that they'll maintain an abusive relationship if they were to marry. This insinuation is quite ridiculous since Yamaken is largely at fault for those instances, as he would selfishly avoid being punched every single time, knowing full well that Shizuku would suffer the consequences.

I think until now, Yamaken's feelings are more romantic than those of Haru. It seems as if Haru is not in love with her, but he's attached since she was there for him, and because of his aunt's influence.

So, team Yamaken for me. At least I hope they don't forget about him in the series since he is one of the best characters.

Everytime I see Yamaken this comes to my mind "His bark is worse than his bite."
To me Yamaken is a lame cobart who is just all talk, but when times comes he just runs away.

This was my impression while watching the series too. Haru quite honestly seemed needy/annoying in many parts.

YAMAKEN.
I know they won't end up together or anything, but Haru just seems unfit for her and he doesn't seem to love her for her, but for what others have said; that she was there for him.

:/ I just don't think Haru has much of a romantic appeal.

I don't disagree with this concerning Haru, but it saddens me that people are willing to accept "romantic appeal" as enough to justify being a sneaky, manipulative bastard like Yamaken.

I like them both. So I really don't know who to ship her with. But if I had to pick, my vote goes to Haru. You can obviously tell that Haru gives Shizuku a feeling of youth and friendship that's she has never experienced before.

I actually have a quick question:
"Cheer up, you’re never alone! There is probably at least 1 bug in your room."

I am crazy or people forgot that Shizuku was such a bitch at the beginning that only care about her, and didn't have any friends. I may be wrong, but as far as I understood, she started to kind of live like a normal person because of Haru.

Well, that's tough, but I went with Yamaken. He's just way more sensible, meanwhile Haru's naivety is just out of this world, he's so slow-witted and scatterbrained.
Besides, there's something attractive about characters with unrequited feelings.

I voted for Yamaken, because let's be honest, Haru's one of those characters that no one would find attractive outside the setting of anime. He may be an academic genius, but he's completely absent in social situations. Yamaken might appear to be selfish and high-minded, but I like more composed characters that have a head above their shoulders.

I can't picture a possible Haru ending. Either Haru must learn the ways of the world, and in the process destroying everything, all the quirkiness, that makes Haru Haru; or we'll have a contrived Clannad-type ending. Of course there's the third option of surrealism -- Haru wins and they go on living happily ever after, despite Haru's inability to hold a steady job and function in society (maybe they'll move into the mountains and become farmers).

they both have good/bad qualities

haru is usually very sincere and is usually optimistic. he just plays everything by heart. so when he gets mad or upset he loses all self control.

yamaken is kind of an opposite.. he likes to think things through. so he essentially tries to stay even keel, not letting his emotions get the worst of him.

I think they are both equally commendable characters, but haru is the better one for shizuku.

The series is getting worse when Yamaken is showing up more often.

I hate it when something like this interrupts me when the show is great.

I don't know but I can't find anything good on Yamaken, tis just my opinion anyway.

Sorry Yamaken fans but, he's the reason I rate this series 9/10.

Yamaken is superior.

Haru is self-centred rage baby with serious psychological issues and violent tendencies.

Haru makes the perfect boyfriend. He remains loyal to Shizuku till the end and would never do anything to hurt her. Haru for me <3

If you go by which one fits Shizuku's personality more: Yamaken.
I just feel like Haru and Shizuku clash so much, they are more like best friends at each other's throats.

Kinda have to agree with you there.
I don't dislike Haru, but that's because he is an anime character.
I would of been done with him after he punched me in the face once, Shizuku took it 3 times!

Also for the people saying "Yamaken moves out of the way so Shizuku gets punched, not very noble.."
How about you go to the ACTUAL problem, which is Haru punching everybody for no reason.
Pretty sure nobody likes getting punched in the face, especially not Yamaken.

Haru, but im afraid about their future, people like Haru who let emotions to run their life end up as wife abusers and drunktards after they experience hardship in life. But right now he is better choice imo :)

Yamaken.

I hate the fact how Haru's unreasonable actions don't receive any consequences. He's also too violent, manipulative, and controlling. He's too unstable. It'd be a nightmare marrying him.

Haru is best. There is no way yamaken could ever top him. Haru and shizuku bring out the best in each other. Don't even get me started on the fact that yamaken is way too prideful and arrogant. Yes I get shizuku is the same way but at least she doesn't deny it. Haru definitely loves shizuku way more than yamaken. He loved her within a day of knowing her and looks past her flaws. Yamaken can't seem to get over her flaws. Oh and yeah that's right WHO GETS MARRIED IN THE END? HARU AND SHIZUKU! They are meant for each other period.
