THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- RAW came out! FINALLY the story is getting more intense! Keisei! Hang in there! Damn that cube liquid! Things are developing for sure! Akasha Shishidou is on the move and Keisei is CRITICALLY IN BED resting. *Mod edit* Modified by aero, 11-17-08, 3:58 PM Oops! I appear to be incapable of following Rules 16 and 17, so I had to have a mod change my sig for me. |

Funimation friggin' finally has subs for 7 out. What's this, another two-week wait for their already behind episode 8? Thbbbt. Anyways, this episode is pretty different from the rest. It actually contained comedy, specifically from (and oddly enough) Makina. This arc's shikabane is pretty interesting, and we get a look into the past of the errant monk. Anyone else think that the geography along the coastline there was a bit... abnormal? |

Another really good episode. That guy was the creepiest enemy we had so far (IMO). D: Makina had some great facial expressions this time. ![]() ![]() |

Nice episode. I finally don't regret starting this. I like Minai the most out of the Himes. She got my sympathy. Moreover she is waking up my protector instincts (I bet this phrase sounds strange in English). It's a shame how she is treated. The Hime with the licence to kill humans is rather interesting, too. Threading her own master. We really had some comedy in this again, but even when it was funny, I kind of didn't get that last joke. He called her "hero" and she was getting mad, but why is he confused? He knew that she doesn't see herself as a hero. Favourite scene of the episode: ![]() Modified by Forever, 12-06-08, 10:07 AM |

This was a bad episode. I wasn't sure that it was possible to further convolute such a simple story, but I was wrong. Will Oori ever wonder why it's strange that he's talking to a cat? Will he ever wonder what the cat has to do with any of this? His ignorance is just a little to much for me to just wave off half of his actions. Why are you going to throw yourself off a cliff before you let anyone else know that you figured out this corpses' power? Ridiculousness. |

Oori is stupid. Makina is funny and armless. Minai has my sympathy. Subs are slow. That is all. |

That's what a shonen should be like : dark, with epic animation (thanks GAINAX once again), and more than just a simple and entertaining show. Certainly this series has its flaws, but it's so much better than most shonens out ther that I really appreciate it. Oh, and I like Ouri because he makes me think of Shinji ;) |

Well, his brother mentionned something about his total indifference in the first episode, which makes hime completely indifferent towards talking to corpses and strange cats.....Apparently he lacks the common sense of fear normal humans have.... |

I definitely wouldn't go that far when it comes to comparisons. But I loved, loved, loved this episode. I enjoyed it a lot, which hasn't happened at all throughout the first 6 episodes. its finally painted with GAINAX's colors (post FLCL) with the humor, erratic animation style, etc. this episode scores a ton of style points. |

I'm getin used to Ouri's terrible voice acting, or it is getin to be a lil a bit better. His part in the story still a mystery, at least he was useful in this episode. And the fight was good in here, I enjoyed it a lot. Overally the series got better, I hope they keep up with this. |

Wow, Ouri actually DID something. Call the press and announce the red-letter day. Of course he did it rather self-sacrificingly. Kind of dumb. Good thing Minai went down to get him. Idiot. Nice cliffhanger though. But damn, what a guy to face off against. |
