WTF? Dog Days 3 before the 3rd season of Sekirei? I'm really disappoint, Seven Arcs.

Its not up to Seven Arcs to animate more Sekirei, they aren't the ones who hold the rights. But Dog Days' is an original property that is very popular, more popular than Seikirei. No reason to NOT focus on Dog Days over Sekirei even if it was up to them.

Dog Days' sold about 10k copies, while 2nd season of Seikirei sold about 6k.

I know, and I understand that. But I just think it's unfair for fans like me, who prefer Sekirei.

Sekirei season 2 aired in July of 2010, and since then, there's been 2 seasons of Dog Days and now there's gonna be a 3rd one. And since they don't usually work on more than 1 anime at the same time, it means we'll have to wait at least 1 more year.

But like I said, its not only up to them. Maybe SquareEnix just has no interest in adapting it so they haven't contacted Seven Arcs.

Nanoha is more popular than Dog Days, and S2 and S3 of Nanoha sold more than Dog Days, and it's written by th same author. So why won't they make Nanoha S4 at last?

Dog Days is a phenomenon right now

However I wish this series had merchandise I'd actually want to buy, I know I buy the BDs and side story manga but it would be nice to have a 1/7-1/8 scale figure of Ricotta, Vert, Adelaide, or Becky.

Uhm, mixed feelings about this one. As much as I like Dog Days the second season just lacked the charm of the first one. Hopefully now that Nanoha 2nd is done hopefully Kusakawa-san can return to his director seat.

Unless he's working on any other Nanoha related project, that'd be even better.

Nanoha makes boatloads of money without anime.

And are you forgetting the movies? They've been working on those for the past few years.

Movies is different thing. It's just a remakes(even if with lots of new sequences). I personally want smth new there. And we have to wait for movie BD's whole 10 months which is too much BTW.

It's your personal opinion. Judging from sales japaneese liked Strikers even more. I personally like A's the most but I don't mind to see Force animeted(as more close to Strikers season). But I prefer to see ViVid first or just smth new.

While Dog Days won't give us anything new with one more season. It's bioring than story has almost none progress

Ii don't say that the lack of plot is the problem. It doesn't need serious plot and especially drama. But watching all the same thing with just a minor changes for the third time would be boring.

I would gladly watch new DD episode every week for whole next year and wouldn't appreciate any bigger plot change. They tried it once in S1 and failed. Thankfully they got it right in S2 with Demon King and I hope further developments (if any) will be alike.

It's a difference in mindset about what constitutes the "same thing", I think.

For me, it's not the same thing unless I'm literally rewatching the episodes from season two. We'll have new characters, new powers, new match-ups in the fights, new character dynamics as characters interact under different circumstances and with different partners. That's different, to me.

Put it another way: I watch Dog Days for many of the same reasons I watch Hidamari Sketch. One just happens to have big battles and the other doesn't.

Such formula is right for SOL animes but we have comedy fantasy with some romance and action here. Even things like Zero no Tsukaima needed some larger changes to keep the interest

Winter season is much too soon for something announced just now. Next fall is too far away. I'd guess next Summer, like the past two seasons, wouldn't you?

Well, if you watch last episode of S2, I think Cinque mention that he will comeback around fall or winter if I remember. And since he has done his promise in S2 (returning on summer which is the same month of the anime airing), would it be possible as the anime will air like the season he returned to Flonyard does?

EDIT: For season 1, he actually came around spring which is the same as the anime aired.

Ah you're right, I keep thinking season one aired in the Summer, but it was indeed Spring.

I'd still be surprised at either Winter '13 or Fall '13. They just seem too close and too far, respectively. But Fall would be more likely than Winter. Hopefully I can survive that long without more DD.

Yeah, I can see how are your feeling. I like DD too and if I remember I think the new season will have 'serious' plot than 2nd season according to some forums. I'm not sure though so I'm keeping finger cross here.

I have a question: Is it me, or is the staff playing too much Street Fighter 2 lately?

If they're playing Street Fighter 2, they should name their 4th and 5th seasons as "Super Dog Days" and "Super Dog Days X", respectively.

there isn't much going on in this anime, they just keeping adding new characters and repeat the same battles again and again. hopefullly season 3 have more conflict

inb4 why does this show get a new season while <insert title here> doesn't get one.

Actually it's such a valid question I have to quote it without striking it out.

Not even sure if I will watch this.

inb4 why does this show get a new season while <SKIP BEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!> doesn't get one.

SKIP BEAT SKIP BEAT SKIP BEAT!! WHAT HAPPENED TO SKIP BEAT SEASON 2??!!!!!

they make a big deal of how he's leaving, but in season 2 when he went back, it was like it's a daily thing?! and the coinicide of him doing everything to return was too cheesy for me. they need more conflict or something cuz all they did was add new characters everytime and go through the same battles every episode :(

But serious plot in case of Dog Days kind of ruins whole idea of it - it should be silly, random and in general fun.

It worked in first two (= sold well enough), so there is no reason to change - unless they want to see it bombing in sales but I don't think so.
Improvements in fun department are always welcome.

lol I was just suggesting ideas that would further increase my interest in this series. The plot-less/2-D plot really has an impact. I agree that it does give an overall euphoric feel to it but nonetheless imo, plot-less stories don't tend to have any profanity and thus it becomes somewhat lackluster. Just sharing my two cents.
