Kind of a quiet episode.. I guess again that's this show's style though.

I don't really understand the relevance of the first half's 8 minute discussion on mind readers and frauds and whatnot though.

BTW, the old man wasn't a witness to one of the cases, he just knew about the box maker they were discussing. Also the civilians in the beginning were claiming they saw the ghost of a boy it seems.

At any rate, I am hoping some things start to tie together in the next few episodes though.

COOL! Did not notice that. Mind readers and fraud seems it might be ways the Mouryuu used to get his victims???

The ghost of boy..............maybe that ghost might provide supernatural clues!

More exposition, but still nothing to tie any of this together. Boring.

Wow, that's very risky of the creators to make an episode solely based on a single discussion between 3 characters, but that was so intense I can only praise them. A giant info dump, but still very entertaining, especially the end. Made me think of the legendary "Chat! Chat! Chat!" episode of GITS SAC ;)

I almost died from information overload, and not from boredom, which says something, I think. I mean, very few series can execute such storytelling the way this series did. Usually too much of complicated information has a very high chance of shutting down the viewer's mind, isn't it? This series is seriously good, and I can't wait to see how everything goes (even though I have watched up till episode 11 already. XD)

Zomg, thinking hurts my brain! I loled.

But in any case, a decent episode. I hope they start tying things together soon, though I can kind of see where they're going with this.

And it annoys me that nobody is subbing this aside from Aero... who're releasing it oh so slowly.

Felli disapproves of this thread.

Even the raws are being released slowly.. I'm downloading 11 right now, can't find 12 or 13 even though they've already aired.

Gosh, there is way too much diolouge in this anime show. Not enough action or things going on. And they keep saying all these names but i always forget what they are, and yes I do know this info they are saying in this show is important, but it's sooo boring.

A lot of people say this show is good, so im going to try and keep watching it till the end, cause maybe im being too hard on it.

I don't mind the heavy emphasis on dialogue, but would much rather read it in a novel. Having such long and drawn out discussions in an anime seems a bit silly... more of the discussion should be animated... or something to that affect.

So, the box maker is being worshiped as a "false prophet," but he is also the grandson of one of the clairvoyant women in the previous episode...?

Hmm. It appears everything will have a significance, just have to wait patiently for it to be revealed.

The lazy neko is my favorite character, I think. :3

I seriously think it's impossible to really grasp this story without drawing some sort of flowchart or character tree or timeline of events. -.-'' I may have to watch this series again when I finish it if I don't understand it - that is, if I deem it worthy of a rewatch.

Christ, I love this anime. I don't mind the dialogue either... I mean, if you went through Katanagatari you would probably be used to these long conversations.

Anyhow, I really like the intelligent banter and the occult they have mixed in. There's no blatant disregard for what people would call "impossibilities" like, say, being possessed by a box. Since the story is set in a not so modern era, it is understandable that people don't find it weird to hear about these sort of things.

BTW, Mifune Chizuko is a real person. Her story was actually used as a basis for the creation of The Ring. :)

Very dialogue heavy episode, but we get more exposition. The box-maker is also a cult leader (might have to do with the murders) and a grandson of one of the medium women who commited suicide some years ago.

I wonder where it's all going.

^^Katanagatari conversations were much more engaging than this.

Absolutely boring.
This series has lost almost all of it's ~mysterious charm~ and atmosphere from the first episodes.

I really should drop this ...but i'm going to finish this out of obligation and hopefully it picks up some more.

Katanagatari did a WAY better job of keeping people engaged in the story, keeping them entertained.

Even though it was just 3 characters talking about their findings it was still interesting to find out about the box maker, what he went through etc.

I really want some solid answers soon though, there's only so many episodes they can do with overloading the viewers with so much information.

Watching this is so exhausting, cause you have to stay focussed for pretty much every second.

But that's fun in it's own way.

So boring. Can we get to the case with both girls now? 'Cause I certainly didn't find interesting the whole analysis of priests, mediums etc. How's this even related to the main plot anyway? Or it is just trying hard to tell you how smart and impressive these main characters are. I know I'm not entertained much. And it's a drag to waste a whole episode on this matter anyway.

IIRC, Onbako-sama is the one who investigated the Mouryou in Yoriko's house back in episode three.
This episode is connected to that scene set in the Meiji era about studying clairvoyant powers.

A Mouryou was released from that box by Onbako-sama? I guess we'll soon find out how this is connected to the serial murder and dismemberment of girls and the abduction case.
