So, I ran across these two websites that look at your MAL and make recs for you. The recs are based on recs made by MAL users for the anime in your completed list. The websites just pool the recs and put them into a list from high priority to low priority.

I was thinking, are there any other websites like these? Perhaps websites that use an integrated database from Anime News Network, Anime-Planet, etc.? and not just MAL?

Here are some sites:
http://sma.keyanifans.com/v3/
http://animecf.com/
https://animeadvice.me
http://www.animerecs.com

I don't really know where this post goes because I'm not really asking for recommendations, but rather I'm asking for links to websites. That means it doesn't go in the rec section. But, I'm looking for websites that deal with anime recommendations, so I guess putting this thread in the anime discussion section would be appropriate? Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Interesting find.

The first website though I question as to why it said I gave some airing anime a rating where I haven't rated it yet. In fact, it automatically inputs a 7, weird.

But yeah, I'll save these two for bookmarks :)

Just this once, I'll fulfill whatever your wish is.

No problem.

Still waiting for someone to come and post a rec site with integrated database (if such a thing exists) or some magical recommendation engine that's smarter than just looking at pooled recs from MAL.

The second site tells me that I have no ratings. I entered the name of a friend who only rates about 1/3 of her shows and has a shorter list than me and received plenty of results.

The second site has to queue up your list. It's a little slow.

So just put your MAL username in the queue and wait an hour or more and come back. Rather inconvenient. I don't know if you have to do this every time you complete an extra anime to keep the rec list updated. As I've said, I've just found outa bout this.

You're on it. I suppose you know of Anime-Planet and AnimeDB. I do wonder what you meant to say, though.

AnimeCF is somewhat smarter than just naively looking at the recs. I can only judge by myself, but it seems to provide the best results of the three.

The new one (ie, new to me) is funny - it provides anti-recommendations, and the Calculated score (I wish they explained how they calculated it...) for these is (negatively) higher than for the top recommendations. It's sort of interesting that these are exactly the shows I've been avoiding.

I'm pretty sure MALgraph already has a similar function (and it doesn't load nearly as long as that first webiste the OP linked).

Funny that the highest ranked rec is also my highest priority from my PTW at the moment (Hajime no Ippo).
I probably regret this post by now.

What do you mean? MALgraph doesn't do recommendations.

I mean the 'Animes you could have overlooked' section at the bottom. But now that I look closely it really is a different kind of recommendation engine that only shows you titles related to stuff on your list. Which is pretty useful now that i think of it, but not technically recommendations, you're right.
I probably regret this post by now.

LMAO, that "rec" site has a VERY small database, and every "rec" comes up with Boku no Pico, the name of the site hahaha. What a troll site. It isn't that helpful.

If you are talking about animecf.com then you have to queue your list. Since it only checks everyone's list like once every couple of months, there should be a button to do it above the little list, beware it can take up to an hour.

Awesome first site! Got a couple of good suggestions from there.

Also found out that by my tastes, Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji should get a 9.6, so I'm gonna put this to the test.
