Wow what a turn around. Yuu and Yuuko were happily sitting on the school roof together and now they're practically torn apart. I'm really looking forward to seeing the aftermath of this situation, especially with Yuu.

knew yuko was raped by that art teacher
loved the last part of "usoutski"- this part scared me though

n btw was just it me or that at the last part of kuze n miyuki were similar artwork of sayonara zetsubou sensei ( i mean since its both made by shaft)

ya and I also mentioned he might be beating her. I just wasn't sure if it was due to his art or not. The rape part kind of caught me off guard though. When she mentioned it I kind of threw up in my mouth a little bit.

And still, even though my heart aches for her, she can't put the blame on Yuu. He was a child struggling with his own demons, and he could barely take care of his self, let alone her. And really, when an orphanage has someone willing to take a child, they usually don't keep the child unless there's a good reason for it.

I agree. However, I'm sure in her misery she was searching for a reason as to why this happened, and how anything in the past could have changed that could give her a different future. If Yuu had accepted her back then, if he had said something else, if he had been honest, then she is right, things would have been different. Expect her to be rational while broken, that they were simply kids, I think that's asking too much, while she's still undergoing mental and physical pain. But the only person who can make her change is Yuu - who was probably broken by her words as well.

I don't believe a girl would cry over a guy who she doesn't truly in love with.

Try losing the only people whom you can truly call friend. Male or female, it is an excruciating pain to think that you're losing the only people that seem to care about you, and that you're going to be alone. It doesn't really matter whether you have a supporting family, friends are needed no matter what because they begin a whole new realm to a person. You don't choose family, you're going to meet them and be with them for great part of your life, but cultivating friendship and trust is not so easy.

Of course I could be wrong, but Nagi didn't seem to be crying only for Yuu, but for both Yuu and Kuze, and what they represent to her.

Well, I think everyone could understand you right here. But if only that was the case.

You should try to go back and watch that scene again. She might be mention about Kuze and Yuu are leaving her but only to made Yuu misunderstood her. Later, she fixed him and saying he was so slow but only to made herself realized that she the one who is slow. If I am the one who is wrong then it might be the script fault but I don't think it was the case.

Or maybe it was supposed to be ambiguous?

It might be Nagi's eerie personality that doesn't convince me she was in love with Yuu, though. Or maybe she believed she was.

We need background info on Nagi. Like family/childhood/other implications?
One thing...........I am still having NASTY FLASHBACKS when I think about Yuko. Terrible such is her pain.

Im stunned like most of the people here....

Why THE HELL did she not say a word earlier?
Why GOSH DARN IT didnt the teachers or classmates or friends realize it?
Why JESUS CHRIST am I so deeply moved by the fate of "animated characters"? ;)

It is true that Yuu loves Yuko, but how will he handle this? Knowing that he, in part, was indirectly the cause for her pain and knowing what had happened, what will he do?.....

Thats the question that doesnt stop running around in my head:
How will Yuu handle it?

Like so many in this forum, my first reaction and thoughts were..... well, lets say they were not very "christian". But, what if Yuu really goes that far? Would Yuko want Yuu to become a murderer and put in jail for the rest of his life? I dont think so....

But what can they do? Someone has to serve up justice!

Folks, I have to say I fear the worst still has to come....

...I knew this was coming. I was more than prepared for it, but major props to SHAFT for presentation. That was just intense, hell they didn't even have to make it intense. The content alone is more than enough to invoke some form of empathy from even the most callous of viewers.

Though small gripe is the rather fast development in the episode, but that was to be expected given that they decided to skip the whole 'school life' scenarios (should do that too Clannad!). Things just went by a tad too fast, though it was nice how they didn't switch back and forth with the Mizuki arc. This part of Yuuko's route deserved everyone's complete and undivided attention.

As for that knife, I'm assuming it is a present by her brother. He probably intends for her to either commit suicide using that dagger (tanto?) or have her kill him. Either way, we should all know how this season will eventually boil down...

This is definitely not something a kid can watch...

Longest post ever!

I must say I was expecting the left turn into oppressive uncomfortability based on Memories 7. You think you're prepared, you think you know what to expect, but it's just like when she finally says she doesn't love you. In your gut you knew it all along but didn't want to admit, and when the words finally come the reality hits like the atom bomb.

I feel like I've been airbrushed with scum after watching that, which I'm sure is exactly what Shaft intended. I thought both the cellphone and phonebook scenes in Memories were overwrought, but this one had to be done this way to convey the story.

All I can say is poor Yuuko :(

To those comments about misplaced blame on Yuu - sure we can see that for that particular decision, he's not to blame. But seriously, looking at what Yuuko has had to suffer all those years, she's just searching, reaching for anyone to help and blame...it's perfectly understandable for her to dwell on "what ifs" and "why didn't this happen" or "why me". Who can blame her?

Although...I did want to smack Yuu when he just blurted out to "just look towards the future" so irresponsibly...but Yuuko smacked down his naivete with her words just as fast.

Sooo she blames Yuu for this? How could he have foreseen what would happen to her? He's not allowed to have his own feelings? Her decision is to show him, then say his single action caused it, after he confesses? What is she expecting him to do? What good did hiding it do? Is it REALLY a good idea to decide whether or not you're going to let yourself be adopted by what a 6 year old kid with mental trauma says to you? Okay, Yuuko, great job. Way to only value yourself by what others think of you.

I just watched it... I think that it wasn't unexpected, but it still surprised me. The last half was kinda of scary, but I loved the drama & tragedy and all... Still, what was he doing after the ED? Hmmm... couldn't blame him if he did do something "rushed" though xD
In the "present", Yuuko's dead? She's like a spirit? Or she like Fuko/Ayu from Clannad/Kanon? Hmm~ In the present Yuu says something about "waiting for her", what could he mean by that?

You're a bit too cold, aren't you? from her point of view, it all happened because he said that he didn't wanna be her "older brother", so she ended up with that relative bcuz she was refused by Himura. You would probaly blame others after something like that happened to you... And she probably has a right to say it's his fault, since she probably had a worser trauma by then. I still didn't quite see this popping up (Yet it was so plain... oh god who couldn't guess after so many hints?).

What a beautiful and intense episode. I had to watch this episode 2 times in a row. It was just that good, just that perfect. SHAFT are really masters at this kind of thing. They really know how to build up the drama over the course of the episode into a Climax at the very end of the episode.

I wonder who are those TASTELESS people who voted that they disliked, hated or only found this episode ok.

Holy mother of Goats wtf was that. Severe mind F$%. Those confessions by Yuuko reminded me of the first season >>, ah good times.

"Your ten years too late" for some reason this reminds me of that song by Three Days Grace - Never Too Late.

Ok anyways, good episode, SHAFT is like a master at this thing. Wonder what will happen next. Will Yuu and Yuuko still be in a relationship or is it over now? Looking forward to the next ep, but I have a feeling there is going to be more Kuze x Mizuki so not particularly looking forward to it at the same time.
