My overall favorite girl is Kafuka.

It's not just her incredibly bizarre reasoning, or her somewhat distorted optimistic view on life which makes her my favorite, it's more that there's something eerily dark lurking behind. What a paradox. She appears to be the most cheerful, but at the same time it's hinted that she's really a horribly twisted person. Ever since the first episode, with her first appearance, in the first few minutes. The way she tries to save Nozomu backfires, and 'almost gets him killed'. If she tried to actually save him, who knows?

This could all stem in Kafuka's past, that something could have been wrong with her from earlier on. We know both her parents attempted to hang themselves (whether they succeeded or not, we don't find out), and her mother was somehow possessed (again, we've no idea how that came about, or what were the results).

Her usually abstract reasoning may seem endearing (for example, hanging oneself is 'getting taller'), but it's clear, like the most of the girls really, she's not all there. The incredibly blunt Meru cowered in fear after looking in her eyes. She, for reasons unknown, took up residence next to her teacher's home, and cooked for him, giving him food poisoning. Her career choices were incredibly odd. Perhaps she was just being absent minded, but we do wonder what's really going on with her.

Second would be Kiri. So cute.

Really hard question desu. All of them are great and unique in their own ways.
I love Chiri, Matoi, & Rin the most, plus I can relate to them, but Kafuka and Kaere/Kaede are totally amazing, too.
My vote goes to Chiri, mostly because she has much more development than Matoi, and her half smile made me laugh until I cried blood.

Edit after voting: I can't believe Chiri has only 13 votes, she's so damn underrated.
Kiri, on the opposite, is obviously the one who's getting most votes only because she's moe.

I think Kafuka For me Maria And Kaere tie for second on my vote.
