1: The Geass vs The Death Note I'd have to say I'm not sure who would win as the Geass can fail and is easily tackled by sunglasses or a mask. However the Death Note requires a name AND a face. Also you need to take the time to write the name. Lelouch goes by a false surname so that would cause problems. TIE 2: Zero vs Kira Hmmm...Very interesting. These characters are very similar but Lelouch actually CARES about his family and friends. Kira will step over whoever he needs to, to achieve his goal.Zero is less secretive and often goes out in public wearing his mask. Kira stays behind closed doors to reduce the risk of being found out. Clever much. KIRA 3: Lelouch vs Light As mentioned before the characters are very similar so this is a difficult question. I'd say that they are both as intelligent as each other, both achieving top of their class. But and this is a big but, Lelouch is more emotionally mature than Light. Light is childish and has a rather juvernile look onto life. Basically he thinks (this is very dumbed down but it is his principal) bad people must die. His judgement of 'bad' people are killed and those who he judges to be 'worthy' or 'good' survive. Light seems to resemble a Hitler charcter as he shapes the world in his own image. Lelouch is a complex person and sees life as it is. Japan is renamed Area 11 and he finds this immoral and unfair. He can lead people effectively and only kills when necessary. He wants a better world for his disabled sister Nananly, therefore he his intentions are less selfish. They both lead a double life an both are very similar but clear winner is.... LELOUCH 4: Code Geass vs Death Note In my opinion I prefered Death Note. Death Note mainly appealed more due to the absolutely epic EVERYTHING!The ending was one of the best anime endings I have ever seen. I loved the complex mind games and interlectual appeal.The horror and gore aspect also appeals to me. However Code Geass was amazing also. The action side was effective and I loved that it was so similar to Death Note. Code Geass had a cliffhanger ending and I must say that I love Code Geass' sponser (Note: My avatar) For those of you who don't know, its Pizza Hut. DEATH NOTE P.S This is all my opinion and thoughts on the matters. Sorry it dragged on a bit. =3 |

Well, I'm not really sure... I really think that they're almost equal or something. Lelouch sorta started off with a good intention and then went downward... (he did it for his sister! :D) While Light was just... kinda creepy in the beginning~ What if you sack their fangirls against each other? XD Then who would win? :) |

wait people if you say light will just get shimigami eyes and he will win that also means lelouch could just get code and be immortal now both characters said they wouldn't do that also light would be after zero not lelouch, because zero would be the terrorist even if light did go after lelouch he wouldn't know his true name. lelouch also wears the zero mask which prevents light from seeing his face also the mask has a little opening so if they did meet it would open enough so lelouch's geass could be cast i personally think the death note is a greater weapon but it is just as "limited" as geass if you read the rules also how would light know who lelouch was in order to see him in his "not so secret life" wouldn't that mean lelouch would know too and then when he did go see his face lelouch would cast geass and if you say he sends Ryuk to kill him then you are stupid or don't watch the anime(or both) and if he send someone like Mesa (mind my spelling) the that means lelouch can send an entire army after him...with guns...and tanks...and giant futuristic robots. they all would were masks and even if they didn't light's hand would fall off if he wrote all there names down fast enough but the main thing is it is Light vs. lelouch you can not say that oh lelouch is to depend on others when LIGHT DIED BECAUSE...GUESS WHAT HE DEPENDED ON OTHERS. also to that comment about lelouch relying on the black knights he always says that the king also has to move if he wants his pawns to follow lelouch goes in battle and destroys tones of knightmares by himself. also though who say that the death note is like geass are somewhat wrong the death note can not make someone do something unrealistic or against there personalities and it only works up to like 23 days for example you can't make a guy jump off the Effiel tower tomorrow while with geass they will get unnatural speed and strength to complete there task go rob a plane an fly it to France if they have to and they will kill anyone who gets in there way as for intelligence light is smarter but lelouch i feel is the better strategist he never leaves anything to chance if it really came down to it lelouch's weapon is not just geass he could just jump in a knightmare and bomb light's house so i think lelouch would win but i think if L was in this he would win because he is just awesome like that |

So I've voted for a tie. Death note is just like Geass, just that the Death note is imo more effectful. The Death Note cannot fail if you have the right name and face, but you can stand the geass with sunglasses and stuff. also, you can use the death note while eating dinner or just doing homework, so your identity is hidden very well. still I think it's a tie, because Light has to get in Lelouch's near, to figure out his name, and eventually face. and in this time, light is helpless if lelouch gets to know he is kira. BUT when Light gets to know lelouch's name before HE gets to know he's kira, it doesn't matter if it's only 5 seconds before that, then he can write his name on a piece of paper from the death note, we all know he always has a piece of it in his watch. then lelouch can use the geass and bring light to kill himself, but, his name is already written on the death note, and he'll die within 40 seconds too, That's why I chose the Tie. |

Lelouch would win. Light needs to be careful with his Death note because there is physical evidence. There are also so may rules in the Death note, and he has to follow all of them. I was discussing this with my friend the other day and we decided that they both have very similar personalities but - as people have mentioned above - Light is a bit more heartless and will trample over anyone he has to to get to where he needs. Lelouch, despite losing his path, is (I think) fairly noble till the end whereas Light just seems to crack at the end. Lelouch's end was for the greater good, whereas Light was selfish. Power wise... They both have there pros and cons. But I personally prefered Lelouch's power to the Death Note (this is a very close call as both are obviously awesome!) Also the Death Note can only kill, Lelouch's power can do anything and he doesn't necessarily have to resort to killing (despite the fact it usually did) but the ability to do anything he wanted was much more pro. I felt Lelouch was a much more likeable character and he got C.C. Light got Ryuk. Both are awesome but nobody can beat C.C. and her Pizza Hut obsession. Its a close call, I can't decide. For his determination and the fact he cares for no-one, Light would probably win. Lelouch would have cared more about the people he was hurting, which could be his downfall against Light.  |

As for their powers, it's obvious that Geass > Note Geass has no restrictions, only one use per human. The " one use per human " rule is practically no rule, since all he has to say is " Obey all my commands " and he'll have full control. So it's overpowered. Death Note has so many rules and restrictions, Light specialty is creativity, just look at all his plans and you'll see. Intellectually Light is light years better than Lelouch, there are no elaborate explaination of Lelouch strategies, all we see is the product. Light's strategies are ingenious, it is properly explained. In the end, Light can simply gather data through various sources via his hacking skills, while remaining in the safety of his home. While Zero won't get any data from Light and is danger of exposing himself since all his schemes requires him to be on television. I choose Light. Doubt Doubt. |

Both of them stumble upon their powers accidentally, but while Light, after testing it, decides what he will use it for, Lelouch declares that it only speeds up his past plans. While both of them use their high intelligence to develop strategies, Light's actions entirely depend on his Death Note, without which he would be nobody, while Lelouch depends mostly on those strategies and his friends, using his power only when needed. Unlike Light, Lelouch has friends he cares for, who, while somewhat distracting him from his plans, give a great asset to his personality. In the end he throws his life away just so his sister can live peacefully in the new world he created. Finally, Light's Kira personality completely overwhelms him, leading to his overconfidence and arrogance, which further lead to his loss and death, while Lelouch suppresses his Zero personality and willingly throws his life away, knowing that it would lead to the success of his plan. So Lelouch is definitively the winner. 4th - Code Geass vs Death Note: Finally the anime declaration. Both anime are reeeeeeeally great with many many turning points and are full of tension, Code Geass is much much greater anime, mostly because of its greatest ending ever. So Code Geass is the greatest anime ever! So basically a tie? However i disagree with your 1st point that the death note can beat the geass. The death note only has the advantage from a distance however in close quarters contact the geass is superior, also the geass has a wider range of abilities other that killing the victim, you can manipulate their actions to any point and wipe their memories without the need to kill them. You can also have them as a subordinate to your plans so with that i feel in your analysis perhaps the geass could have beat the death note, but overall great analysis i agree with the other 3 :) |
