You can now export your manga list to an XML file. Your exports include your chosen lists stats now too. You can get to the export page through this link: http://myanimelist.net/panel.php?go=export

btw, i think i found a mistake: in manga list xml there's a line

<user_total_manga>4</user_total_anime>

it should end </user_total_manga> ;-)

Good find minus-one. currently you can only import anime back. you cannot import manga yet.

Eh? You tried importing to AniDB from a MAL export? We don't support AniDB import features, so I'm not sure how to help you with that.

I know, this is quite an old topic, but what is actually exported out on manga and animelists? Are comments exported too? I usually add in comments with the anime / manga I'm currently into, so it would be great to know if these are exported too. Just in case. ^^

Thanks. :)

Exporting your list only provides details for your anime/manga entries. Comments are included.

check this post:
http://forum.anidb.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6245&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

anyway, it should work again.
But it would be much easier if my suggestion from this thread would be implemented (AniDB aids in MAL exports):

Not only good as back up, also transferable to the anime-planet.com forum.

Yes your list does not disappear. You can export it once a month for backup reasons and nothing will have happened to your original ones on this site.

You can even then upload it to anime-planet or animedb.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but my question is kinda related...

I tried exporting and then importing my manga list on another profile to test it out and the comments and tags were not transfered. I don't mind the tags but it would be great if the comments could be included in the xml file (I checked, they don't appear in it either), since I use them all the time.
Would it be possible to enable this feature please?

It would be great if tags were included in the export too because for those who use them it's useful to have a backup of what they wrote and there isn't any other way of saving the list's content (not that I know of).

My bad, I thought they were not because I tried to import to recover a particular tag but these didn't appear in the XML, now I realise that export was too old and didn't include my tags. Awesome then.

Looking through the XML document and seeing only the comments and then importing to see that tags didn't update. Also another user mentioning that they were not implemented after doing the same thing. But in my case it was because the one I experimented with was an old export, when tags in fact were not included in my list. I re-exported and tags are included now.

How do I do this?

Export file from here into a folder. Go to HB, go to the upload thing, and upload that file. Very simple.

What they meant is when you've exported the file on your myanimelist account, you don't have to extract the .xml on the zip/rar file. Just upload it as from what you've downloaded.

I use export for saving anime/manga lists on local storage. Today I was really surprised because there is not in manga xml-file. Is it a bug or I have no way to save manga (anime tags exist) tags via export so I have to use html-export via browser?

You are right. You can also use the old api for export where all tags are included: http://myanimelist.net/malappinfo.php?u=lessfull&status=all&type=manga

But why doesn't manga-export-system include tags like anime-export-system does? Is there any technical issues preventing its implementation?

The developer didn't give it much thought. You may try contacting him - he's the starter of this topic as well as the first person on the staff page

A password? That's weird.
But yeah you need to unzip it. Use winrar, right click on the file and extract here.
