Wow, Saji is an idiot.
Well this might lead to him becoming a member of Celestial Being though.

Why? That was very human of him.

You loose your life, you get a chance to get it back, you grab it. Personal interests always come before group interests, thus Saji did what anyone out there would have done in his situation.

What makes Sajia great character is that he actually feels guilty for that, while most of us, would just brash the guilt away on the soldier who overheard, or ALAWS, or the guy who gave the orders.

Another great episode.
Good thing people like Sergei or Mr.Bushido start to realize that A-LAWS are fags.
I see Saji joining Celestial Beings. Or he might become a neutral side of the story as well.

I ve always thought that the authors wanted to express a war criticism through showing how war effects the life of average neutral people like Saji or Luise. Now that Luise has joined A-LAWS Saji is the only one left.
But Saji joining CB and facing Luise later would also be an interesting story

do we really need love in the middle of this war? here's my honest opinion, we do! it sounds cheesy but it's an essential part of a story and will engage us even further. although sunrise always deny me of a good love story nowadays(sorry seed/seed destiny).

Mr.Bushido only wants to fight Exia XD

What Saji did was expected, I don't know how they didn't see it coming ... Why did anyone think that Saji is going to stay with Cataron - another amateur mistake from both sides (CB and Cataron).

If CB let him go back home is almost like send him to hell. The reason that CB let Saji stay with Kataron was to find a place for him to stay since they know he hates gundam so much.

True... it's totally understandable what he did... he lost everything and was just trying to get things back to normal (the same that any of us would do, actually). He had no interest in the conflicts between CB and A-Laws. He just wanted his life back.

And I could be angry about what he did, but after seeing him feel so guilty about what happened (even if that was not all his fault), I started to like him more. o.o

I can't wait for the next episode >.<'

I would bet on that plot. That's an obvious move after all the trouble the authors went through with Saji. Even if he wouldn't join CB (he could even join CB without piloting a Gundam, but as a regular support staff - he has some engineering abilities as we know), a confrontation with Louise later on is pretty obvious.

Doesn't matter why they let him stay with Kataron, Saji's reaction (escaping from Kataron) was predictable but nobody payed attention to it. Especially Klaus should think of him as someone who could jeopardize Kataron's security.

Great ep, overall.

I was a little surprised that Saji hadn't really warmed up to either Celestial Being or Cataron yet, but I guess that's actually much more realistic. Someone will his beliefs as firmly entrenched as him is going to take a while to change.

And hooray for the return of Serches. Seriously, wondering where he'd gotten off to was bugging me something fierce.

Saiji just didn't know the consequences of his actions. He's never been in a war, so I can't really blame him for running away.
Curious how he's going to face them now. Will he confess and say something like "Oops, sorry! Didn't know that was going to happen." I wonder Kataron would react.
This definitely has to result in some kind of action from his side. Will he stay a pacifist? How will he bear the error, that ended up with a whole lot of people killed?!? Will he atone for it? !?!

Oh so many questions and it's still quite a long time till' the next episode!

Kataron will be pissed off anyway. Think about it - CB appears at their base, then they suddenly disappear from their base, then A-LAWS suddenly sweep their base clean. Who you gonna suspect?

Saji, I think, will surely say the truth and I see division of arguments happening there - some of CB will think what happened was a pure accident and Saji is not at fault for the extermination of A-LAWS, others will think that Saji had some fault at that, but he can redeem himself. While others(like Lyle) will surely blame him for a long long time.

Now if Saji actually confesses and joins CB, I foresee a lot of interesting stand downs between him and Lyle. In Tomino's old Null-Gravity-Punch-Around way.

I must agree. Although I hate cheesy love stories in movies, I just miss them when they are not in anime. And SetsunaxMarina is just not interesting for me, their "love" is just too cold. I hope Louise and Saji wilget more time together.

I hoper for LockonxFeldt before, but he died, and "new" Lockon, well, it just wouldn't be right. "New" Lockon himself told something like that.

Everyone's so surprised about Ali Al Sachez's coming back... Looking at the style of things, we'll probably get a flashback of how he managed to survive at the beginning of episode 6 (like how the last 4 episodes (except episode 1) showed a bit of the past before the OP).

I'm also one of the few (or many) who don't really dislike Saji Crossroad. He's still quite immature since entering the fray of the battlefield, trying to get out of the whole mess & living happily ever after. But I believe at some point he'll face the A-LAWS again & meet his ex-lover (who seem to have amnesia at the moment).

Also for those who still wish for Neil to come back, it's not gonna happen. MapleRose, good point there. The helmet part was also explicitly seen in the S1 Extended Ending.

Lastly about the villians, I feel that Soma have the highest chances of defecting or at least end up in CB. Either way she'll get her memory back. Not sure about the other 2 characters; they already are stressed out in their position (particularly Kati)

Well. Not everyone can be a guerilla like Setsuna or Ali. The world has "normal", more careful and "unuseful" people, too, you know? I doubt that any of us here will prove to be of use in a real war. Plus, the fact that the base got eliminated isn't entirely Saji's fault- he was just acting like a human instead of a "superhuman". People who blame and bash Saji for episode 5 prove to lack understanding for human nature and its weaknesses.

and only at the end do we find out why it was called "buring homeland", that terrorist dude is back, but how did he know what setsuna said? did he just think someone would say something like that

My hate for Saji has grown considerably larger than before.
Like seriously, he is the most useless character in the series. He can't even be compared to an toilet bowl. At least toilets can take shit and not complain about it.

He should grow some balls and get punched in the face or something. Anything that would sort his dumb brain out.

Really, I don't care at all if he decides to join the A-LAWS or even become an middle eastern man whore, just get your shit sorted man, you had 5 episodes to do that, but you still continue to bitch about everything.

Rant done. Btw, series is going pretty great so far, def getting me hooked.

This episode was just plain stupid. I don't know what having robots do your killing for you somehow causes it to be so morally wrong. That base was a fortress. I'm sure it would cost hundreds of lives to take it and I imagine Catheron would fight to the death so the result would be the same.

What pissed me off the most was the fact that Catheron would have children in their military base. While A-Laws have done many morally reprehensible things, attacking this base was not. The base was a legitimate military target filled with enemy combatants in an isolated place far away from other civilians. I imagine Catheron could set up orphanages that are away from their military bases.

Let's see if Saiji wakes up from his childish naivete now.

I wonder why CB and Kataron don't use the media more to exhibit what the A-Laws are like? The first season showed the possibilities of using the media rather well.

Sergei is a cool guy adopting Soma. I wonder what his son will think about that though?

This episode increased my respect for Sergei immensely. I mean, I already liked him before, but now he's simply awesome. He's just a really respectable dude, just like most of the "antagonists" of season 1 were. Same with Soma, though to a lesser extent. It's cool to see her getting some development now.

This new season is introducing some really scummy characters, and I'm not sure if I like that. It seemed better when the fights between the Gundams and the Union/AEU/HRL didn't appear like a fight of objective good and evil, but rather like a clash of two opposing forces where no one could say which one was truly just.

Hopefully Saji joins CB after seeing the ruthlessness A-LAWS is capable of. How amazing would it be to see Saji and Louise working on opposite sides and ultimately fighting each other? Bloody amazing, that's how amazing.
