Really enjoyed this first episode. Can't wait for the next 3 lol.
I kind of wish they made this a series rather than 4 movies. It progresses like an anime series (at least this first movie did). There were definitely parts where I thought it could have ending as just an episode but whatever..

Pretty enjoyable episode. This ova has potential. I'm liking Akito's character. And damn that preview had me hyped. Suzaku and C.C! I'm hoping Lelouch also makes an appearance.

I don't think this deserve to have the tag code geass in its name. The major things that lack in this movie are intelligence and character's ideals. There are no strategy, no plan, just pure action. Oh well, there is a plan but it is pretty mediocre. During the first half of the movie, I just felt that I was watching gundam, not code geass, the main character is pretty stereotype, he is imba, he kill shits, that's all. Onto the next part is the ideals, there are no ideals being shown, when we think of code geass, we know that character has strong ambition, and as a fan, I was really looking forward to what the characters have to offer, but there are nothing really.

Even the conversations are weird, they are like divided in two parts, one is pretty much common talk then just suddenly switch to something big. I was like, wtf are they talking. There are no real connection between them. Especially in the last part with the terrorists, laila or whatever, ask them what they want, they say they want some knightmares, then right after that, they want a place to return too, rofl, what the heck, I thought they want to rebel or sth. And they join the main casts so easily, talking about terrorists, shit!

All in all, this is like a dessert to us fan of code geass, something that means to satisfy our addiction, but to be honest, this tastes bad!

Overall I like it, I was enthralled by Akito's sinister aura. I just love characters who are mysterious and seem like they are planning something evil/are evil like him. Though it was sorta hard to understand who was fighting who. Like individual characters it was ok, but I couldn't figure out if it was on the same timeline as the original Code Geass and which group/country was fighting who.
Oh yeah, one more thing, I was trying to figure out about Shin and Akito's geass. I think Shin cast his geass on Akito and it sorta works like Lelouch and Suzaku. Like since we've never seen Akito use the geass, just that his eyes are red rimmed, I think he is like Suzaku, using the geass to become more powerful. Shin's geass, I think is similar to Lelouch's. Well, I assume that Shin used his geass on Akito cause well, they're the only ones who have any indications to be related to geass currently.

It was ok.
The first fight scene was very confussing,I had problems figuring out what was going on half the time.
The character are alright, not too impressive yet.
My biggest problem by far is the music. Most scene barely have any and that makes them kind of boring.
When there is music it isn't very good.

Pretty interesting, though honestly it's been too long since I last watched code geass that I dont remember a lot of things in the code geass world anymore.

Characters' visuals wise, it reminds me a lot of the previous code geass style that I like!

Surprised to see CG in the fight, but it looks pretty nice in a different way (though I still prefer the non-CG)

Hmmm is it possible that more than one character has geass? That Shin dude has it, but it seems to me that Akito possibly has it too...or is he under it? :/

Preview of next episode, I saw Suzaku and C.C.?!

Ya the characters are kind of vapid so far. Akito looks like a robot. Meanwhile, Leila seems like she's strong and wise, but it's inconsistent. Everybody else is forgettable.

Just watched. Mecha fights are high tension heart pumping spectacles as they should be; which is commendable because of the CGI. That said the writing is abysmal characters like the main girls fiance irritate me and leave myself disengaged. I liked the original series because Lelouch is somewhat entertaining to watch.. none of the characters here are that interesting. Also that guy in the convo who was gonna pick up the main character.. why the fuck would he need an ID card stating the main character is from area 11 to know he was from there... wouldn't his facial features give it away? We have no reason to suspect he does not look Asian.. seriously dumb fucking writing man.

Overall I enjoyed this. I found the designs of the mech's to be great and really unique compared to the tv show. I found the show to be a breath of fresh air compared to the original TV series. I found animation to be great and I found the characters and story to be fairly interesting. I appreciate the fact that this story takes place in Europe it feels very different from the original series. One of my biggest issues with the movie is that I felt the pacing of it wasn't so great.

Waiting for that Lelouch cameo. Speaking of Lelouch..Qin has the same Geass as he does huh?

I don't really despise CG that much, but it's weird when they go from 2-D to 3-D animation...it just feels fake.

Okay start. The CGI is not bad if you're watching it on BD.

Now I have to wonder what timeline does this series takes place. It says in the synopsis few years ago that this takes place during R2. So it will be interesting how Suzaku and CC and other original characters will have cameos etc.

Akito is okay. Leila is cool, but wow. Almost every character have similar counterparts in the original Anime.

Can't wait for the next episode!

1) I wanted the characters to be European instead of Japanese, after all what is the point of changing all the settings if you keep most of the characters from elsewhere.

2) The Geass in the movie is not explained at all and was disappointing.

3) Characters design is beautiful.

4) I enjoyed the visuals and the battles, everything else was meh.

5) Characterization is very bad.

5/10

I will check the 2nd movie soon as it seems like it will be better than the first, hopefully.

Everything was fine until the Britannia nation attacked.
Ugh...CG.
Anou got owned.
Cool deaths shown.
That's racist.
Damn. Dat woman in the white dress.
Damn. Dat woman in the red dress with Ioan is fine AF!
Wait...fiancee? Incest? OH YEAH!
Oh...she was adopted. Darn. But Ioan seems like an ass so I hope he doesn't marry her.
Damn. Dat grab sfx. That's the "I claim that." grab.
WTF! Why'd you push her you piece of shit?
I'm happy as hell Ioan has no interest in marrying her.
Akito handled that like a boss!
Why is that woman in the red dress with Ioan? She deserves better.
OMG! Ayano is so fine!
The Black Knights are mentioned. :)
That girl by the fire that turned around is fine.
Left that dude in the car. LMAO
Dat ass!
In the knightmare nuts.
Ayano oppai.
Was that baby Akito?
Holy crap! He has Geass. I knew it once he extended his hand.
So Shin is Akito's brother.
DAMN! DAT OLIVIA ASS IN THE END CREDITS!
Hold up! Is that C.C. in the white robe in the End credits? I see green hair.
Sophie got a body.

It was okay. I dislike seeing the knightmares in CG. Looks weird AF and that forest battle was terrible.

Wow, this was an amazing movie. Glad I picked up the Akito series. The drama is on point and the animation and music is just excellent. The animation amps up the mecha fights and the music is just world class. Plus, the art of European 'cities makes it look like Academy City from Railgun. They really have worked to make the movies work.

I think Akito is Geassed, cause of his orange eyes. And that guy at the end also had Lelouch's Geass too. Maybe he has the command geass, or judging by the flashback, a die geass command.

Akito looks hot. Also that preview of Suzaku and CC at the end.

Even without Lelouch, Akito the Exiled fits in with the dark themes of Code Geass. This is so cool.
BTW, that ED was good. And take a look at where Ayano is keeping her sword in the ED.

Without change,we end up becoming the very person we hate.

Well, that just felt pointless. I'm not really sure why this movie was made. I understand that it is meant to expand upon the pre-established Code Geass universe, but the entire movie felt extremely inconsequential. I'm sure many of my questions will be answered in the remaining four (?!) movies, but that doesn't excuse how lost I was in this movie.

I first wish to discuss likely my biggest gripe with this movie: The CG. I don't necessarily have a problem with CG in anime. When done well, it is pretty great. For example, I've heard Houseki no Kuni handles CG very well for an anime. I haven't seen it yet, so I can't exactly comment on the validity of these claims, but just from trailers I can tell the CG was handled better than it was here. The KnightMares look awful in this movie. Why they went from having excellent animated KnightMares to these CG monstrosities is a mystery I may never know the answer to. It isn't like it was a lack of talent either. Both key animators have done excellent work in other projects (hell, Kanta Suzuki literally did key animation for the original!). The action scenes are the focal point of this movie, yet it is incredibly difficult to figure out what is going on because of how sloppy it looks. However, I did enjoy some of the angles the animators used, and action not involving KnightMares was actually pretty good. The soundtrack and voice acting was uninspired and forgettable, but at least some of the voice actors at least sounded like they were trying to fit their roles. The story felt remarkably inconsequential. Nothing really happened in the entire 50 minute run-time, at least as of now (these events may become more significant as the story progresses, but we will have to wait and see). The characters weren't much better, with not a single character having an interesting or unique personality. To conclude, this movie was fine. Hopefully the next entries make this feel less like filler and more like a meaningful addition to the Geass universe, but only time will tell if this is true or false. 6/10.

Interesting. Akito is lacking something, but I have to see more of this to confirm that. I enjoyed the action sequences so much, it what made a big part of Code Geass feel so much compelling. I just love how fast-paced it all was. The episode flew by quickly too and next episode's preview seems to feature C.C. I can't wait. I hope more characters from the parent show make an appearance here. Looking at you Lelouch, Suzaku, and the rest of Lelouch's classmates. Orange boy too? Why no even the rebellion members, ugh, you know what, just shove in there everyone and I won't even be sad about it.

Well, this was "okay" start to the Akito series I suppose.

Can't say I'm digging in to the characters just yet but the Setting is kind of interesting. Akito in Geass-ed mode, similar to Suzaku's "Live On", is highly curious-striking too. Wouldn't be surprised if the madman Lelouch would be behind this despite all reasonalbe odds xD.

Hyuuga Shaing demonstrating a bit of Geass was a nice throwback and the action seems pretty good as well. Damn, Akito's knightmare's unique movements though.

Was reluctant to giving this series a shot but well, here I am.
