I don't care about what other people will think of what I'm reading. unfortunately nowadays I'm only reading online manga, but when I buy one, I need to read in the second that it came into my hand, so I don't care reading in any place

Echii stuff never happens until someone is in the room.

Reading Medaka Box, then Dad comes in seeing Medaka in her undergarments on the next page.

Good thing I closed it quickly.

i tend to read it at my friends house because we share and discus topics on them and our own i would read it outdoors if England was not so rainy who cares if people judge its who we are we dont judge people for what they do like playing football why should we be judged for reading a very good story and art style.

on a non related topic i would like for you to see my forum to help me and my team for making our manga feel free to have a look on http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=497157 . this is not spam i dont wish to bug anyone

yes. I always read books in the bus on my way to work, any kind of book ranging from novels to non-fiction and of course manga. In fact, the last two months or so I only read manga, mostly stuff from Jiro Taniguchi - so the covers weren't that 'strange' - but I also read stuff like Berserk, Bastard!! and Nana (I had almost read Sailor Moon *lol* but I finished the volume in the evening before, so I took one of another series for the bus)
and at work my books are always on my desk, so everyone can see them. funnily enough, I do this not on purpose but through this you find out a lot about your colleagues regardless of whether it's manga, non-fiction or novels

No I read it online because it's free. I don't really think its bad to read it in public actually I like the manga covers the art is usually awesome. I wish more people would.

I read manga on my laptop at school and all my friends react with "WTF faces", but I don't care.

Other than there, not really. I never really think of reading it anywhere else, but where I'm comfortable (School being the exception)

No not really. I'm not ashamed or embarrassed by it, I just don't read out in public, that goes for normal books as well. I don't really have time to read it at work either, usually too preoccupied with, you know, work.

Back when I still went to college, I made sure to only read manga(In public) that didn't have any ecchi or nsfw moments.

Which goes for :
-Kodomo no jikan, loli fanservice/ecchi, for this one I have even more reasons to not read it public(and I don't think anybody would read it in public).
-Yuru yuri, not a lot of nsfw stuff though.
-Btooom!
-Saki, the characters don't even wear bra's or panties, and some dress in ways that i'm pretty sure is illegal during a mahjong match.
-No railgun
-Gantz
-Prism
-Upotte!!, literally gun porn.
-Gamble Fish
-Two and two, 2 middle-schoolers who are in a (sexuel) relationship with 2 other woman. Its even above KnJ in terms of risks.
-Rising x Rydeen
-Tsuki Tsuki!
-Welcome to the NHK
-Girl Friends
-Onani Master Kurosawa
-Battle royale
-Believers

"No, I only read manga at home, places I can be alone, a friend's house, etc."

I chose that option only because I don't own any physical copies myself. I read manga online and I don't really take my laptop anywhere, so I'm almost always alone when I read it.

I use to read mangas online but since I have a Kindle, I use it from time to time to read mangas during commuting or during breaks at work. I don't really care what others may think - I mean, it's just another form of literature.

But I try to not read ecchi manga during this time - not because I would be ashamed but I don't want to deal with the questions.

I read in public but since I mostly read online it doesn't happen so often. For example I'm comfortable with reading manga in school with my phone or with the school's computers. Though I prefer not to read yaoi anywhere else than at home or my friend's place since she reads that stuff also.

I am actually really embarrassed about being a manga fan. However, my friends read manga in public all the time, and I didn't want to be the only one who was ashamed of their interest. So when I bought my first manga, I read it at school.

All was going well (although I was still feeling a tad uncomfortable) when the boy who sits next to me in math class leaned over, pointed to my manga, and said "gaaaayyy".

The thing was, it was gay. It was a shounen ai. Not knowing how to properly respond, I nodded my head, gave him a thumbs-up, and said "yup!"

Momentary silence ensued.
Him: ....Seriously?
Me: Yes. It's two boys.
Him: Oh. Then. Uh. Gaaaayyyy....*laughing awkwardly*

I haven't really looked through my school's manga yet, but I did eye it from another genre section; all they seemed to have was manga like Vampire Knight and Bleach, so I don't feel like I'm missing out by passing the row.

That's what one of my coworkers said as he heard about the fact that two of us are watching anime in their freetime.

But I thiink it's no problem to read manga in public... And it's always funny to watch the reactions of the people around you (especially in trains during commuting time).

People are too busy with their own lives that they simply don't care what are you reading in a public place.

If you're hiding your hobbies it's different, and if you are uncomfortable about reading in a public place is different too.

I've seen many strangers read manga in public. Mostly high school students though. I read manga in public all the time, and my friends do as well.

I buy manga and also read online when I don't know if I should buy a series, isn't released in English or if its just too freaking long and my wallet would hate me for it.

Not really because most of the time I'm in public it's to eat out or at college. I don't want to get food on my manga or let it get bent in my bookbag. I've read manga at the library before though.
