It was clear that the where after the gun from the start but to go as far as abandoning a base just to get that gun. This will only place distrust amongst there own ranks since they can also figure out that this was planned out and it must be pretty hard on them seeing there own base lost not to mention the men power that is lost with it plus the men power it's going to take to recapture the base just for that gun. And for the UN it should also be obvious that they where after the gun which will also create distrust with there relationship with them. Then there is also the question why the maintenance stall of the type 99 gun didn't know what to do when they heard the orders of Lt Dahl they should have been informed that the technology of the gun should not end up in enemy hands. It's also surprising that none of them knew the self-destruct code. And now Yui ends up risking her life to set of the gun by herself luckily one of the maintenance grew managed to hide from the Soviets so he could destroy the gun. It also seemed like Soviet command was sending the Zhar battalion towards there death as well with the base the needed to protect which was basically abandoned. I also don't recognise the strict behaviour which Germans are supposed to have according to Anime and manga. I agree with you that Russians are often portrayed as the bad guys in media the main cause of this is rather simple. Much entertainment you see in Western country's arrived from the United States and even tho relations between the US and Russia are relatively good nowadays they have been enemy's for a long time in the past. And Russia is also a superpower like the US which makes them a strong enemy which could cause some serious damage to the US. These two reasons make them a good villain for movies and such. In the first scene Yui has a test simulation of the Type 99 gun inside a hive with some other White Fang units and they get slaughtered. After that, is a scene with some high ranking officer of the Japanese army discuss something about future TSF unit development and the gun (sorry, I didn't quite get that part because I'm not that good in Japanese and the translator wasn't making any sense at all) and finally there is Tarisa's fight with the Twins and Yuuya's arrival at Alaska (which is basically the same with the anime). |

The actual number of BETA involved is actually not that much and quite manageable with the base 's firepower. However This is all to create a illusion for the automated system monitoring the Hydrogen bombs placed under the soviet base in secret by the Americans years ago to blow away the commies if this base ever gets overrun. The old shity antique system now detects BETA within the base and BETAS heading towards the Base so it armed the Bombs. This was the goal of the Terroists, dissension among the Soviets and Americans with the revelation of the bomb. The Russians are made aware of the Bomb's existence(boy are they going to be pissed at the Americans after this) and while the base is busy dealing with the terrorists, the commander made the decision to remove the limiters on Cryska and Inia to eliminate all BETA presence in and around the Base. i liked to put the spoiler tag but i dont know how sorry SERIOUSLY DUDE????   |

Wow, so the whole thing was a setup by the Soviets so they could get the classified weapon when everyone evacuated before the BETA shows up. Yuuya will save Yui and destroy or maybe even take the weapon, I'm sure!  |

About the preview, here is what I think of it with the preview out. From the looks of the following,  Base is going to get overrun and this is going to be the pits of episode 2 all over again. Get ready for gore and some censored. People being eaten and dying along with massive shit to traumatize the viewers. Rest in the list

Look at the freaking 2D car with badly drawn as well as bad coloring, why dont they just make the damned vehicles CGI as well if they can't event properly draw a damn car. I've been watching this for a while and whenever I see these vehicle animation I couldnt stomach it. Should have just done all of these in 2D like back in the novel Takemikazuchi animation of the final mission. |

Doing the last suggestion will blown all the budget through the roof. But yeah, I understand. Everyone here would like to see this with better animation and directing... At least this isn't the original series. |

Still this episode had interesting political strategic games in it with a lot of tension and all this brainless sheep can appreciate is explosions. Maybe they should just stick to watching an eternal replay of Michael Bay movies. I fucking swear most of this people didn't even know what those dialogs where about. No wonder they are bored. They don't even realize what they are watching so they prefer pew-pew with the aliens so they can at least understand what is happening without frying there brains. Before I was one of the people that was getting sick of silly episodes and wanted action but to me this events ARE action. The tension and the games played are very high. Also we have BETA surrounding the base people running to evacuate and the attempt to blow up a huge weapon by fooling the soldiers and jumping from a moving helicopter. What the hell to this people want to see to feel intensity? Gun shooting alone and nothing else? |
