http://baldursgate.com/ Thoughts? Who is getting it? One of my most biggest anticipations this year and in these past years~ Will these changes/improvements be significant enough to bring a whole new epic experience from the original masterpiece? |

BG is probably my favorite game series of all time so I'm naturally looking forward to it as well. Was just about to replay the old versions when they announced EE earlier this year so the timing is fantastic. Not expecting too many new features though and it's probably for the best. I'm just glad if they make it more compatible with the existing hardware and support the great mods that have been released over the years. Modified by GuZ, 09-05-12, 5:59 AM |

Altho the game runs fairly smooth even up to date (the original) on modern pcs, at least from what I've seen so far. Twaz said: Hah, never really played it tbh. You should also look into some more Black Isle Studio products if you are interested, Icewind Dale serie + Planescape; Torment also 2 great titles. |

And while I can appreciate the switch to DnD 3.5 system instead of ADnD, I can't say I'm really fond of the idea of bringing a whole bunch of new characters into the game. BG1 sometimes has this annoying problem when you don't get any party conversations and banter. BG2 and Torment have their share of bugs as well, although you can fix these two by unofficial patches. Anyway, not really sure about buying it, I have all of the original games so I think I'll "preview" it first and then decide if the improvements are worth it. |

Icewind dale is very combat oriented Planescape;Torment is very dialogue oriented While Baldur's Gate is a bit in between both, 2nd one being the superior (that being said, the first one is still the one I feel most nostalgic about and a true masterpiece by itself) one and they do continue so you can basically play the first one through and import your character to the sequel without any problems. I would say Torment is probably my favorite of them all but it is definitely the one with least action/combat and more focus on puzzels and character developements. But it is always like that, the best games are usually flawed by their immense amount of bugs if you ask me. And for the buying part, it is true that the content might not be ''enough'' to add to your previous collection. But you can always watch/read more about it after release and then make up your mind :) |

Beamdog = Overhaul Games. Started as a single label, then splitted into two for convenience sake (now Beamdog is the "publisher" and Overhaul is the "developer" but essentially the same people are in charge of both). |

Yeah, I kinda figured that out after a while. Apparently they use their own client and such. Well, we'll see in a couple of days how that works out~ |

I'd like it, but no plans to bring it to steam as far as I can tell. So I probably won't be getting it. |
