Nice episode.... Eru and Oreki trapped in a shed on a cold new year day..... (I was really longing for a HUG <3)

Seems like all the episodes after school festival are for EruxOreki moments.....

Kinda sad, next episode will be the final one.... :(

I'm having thoughts that next week may not be the last episode? I've seen theories floating around online. Apparently the title of next week's episode shares it's name with the second-last section in the 4th volume of the light novel. Would be strange to end the anime at that point, wouldn't it?

i.e. next week is 2nd last episode, final episode will be BD exclusive??

Well everybody expected from Houtarou and Chitanda to as least hug in the cold, myself included, but if we look at it realistically, this series doesn't have the romance tag (sadly to admit) and so you kind of expect for nothing to happen.

To me, possibly the best episode thus far. Seriously, the author of Hyouka really is creative in his ways. (What with the 'trapped like a rat' thing)

It was almost like romance was completely unnoticeable until the previous episode and this episode. I wonder if it will reach the climax at the finale.

Isayama Hajime should be awarded The Manga with The Highest Inconsistencies of Characters' Appearances.
He keeps performing multiple plastic surgeries on those Shingeki No Kyojin characters in a SINGLE chapter.
Yes, I've read up to the latest chapter of Shingeki No Kyojin manga.
Forced myself to read through the kidsketching chapters after the anime's ended. At least from now on, I only have to go through the hell once a month.
Patiently awaiting SNK TV/movie/OVA anime-sequel.
The 2015 SNK live-action movie would probably suck.

As cute as Eru is, it seems she just let the shed door close without a second thought, lol. Of course, it made for some comedy. Too bad Houtarou didn't go with Eru's plan of using the Obi string...

I still think they should have dug a tunnel underground since it was faster and it won't destroy anything from the shrine.

It was a nice episode just too see Kimono Eru ,Shrine Maiden Mayaka and Kaho.

Chitanda would probably make the first move if something romantic is going to happen between the two of them in the last episodes.

Oreki just doesn't have the initiative to start something or do something regarding his feelings for her.

Chitanda also probably wished for Oreki to be by her side forever when praying and ringing the bell. I'm calling it.

Grrr, I'm disliking KyoAni for this. First the 19th episode and now this.

Next episode I hope Oreki asks Chitanda to go out and then KyoAni makes a second season: Hyoka After Story.

I really enjoy watching this show, but sometimes it doesn't make much sense to me.

In this episode, Oreki met a girl who is in his class and is named Juumonji. After the whole Juumonji incident, it seems like the writer(s) wouldn't put in a character with that name unless it meant something, yet nobody mentioned the incident in this episode. Similarly, if Chitanda already knew Juumonji Kaho, why didn't she mention her when they were trying to figure out who Juumonji was?

The Juumonji incident itself didn't make much sense to me, either. It turned out that a character we didn't know was secretly taunting another character we didn't know about losing a thing that we didn't know existed. How is that a satisfying conclusion?

And on top of that, in the first episode, Fukube mentions the "rising power" family names that start with 十 (10), 百 (100), 千 (1000), and 万 (10,000). The first one was Juumonji. Nobody has talked about that since. I think I remember at least one other character whose name started with one of those kanji, too, but I'm not sure. Anyway, was that information really just useless trivia? It seems like it should mean something.

Am I overthinking this? Am I missing something? Or am I supposed to be confused and waiting for it all to come together in the final episode?

Thanks.

So looks like the mystery this time was the question of how they were going to get out, without causing a commotion for the shrine visitors and/or misunderstanding towards them by Chitanda's family and family's friends which are the shrine caretakers.

Although I still think the fastest way out with the least damage (at least considering Oreki's initial destructive ideas) was to shout and call for help, and then explain the situation later.

I can't tell if Chitanda's too considerate or not: not asking Oreki why they were at the shed before entering, to considering her family's relation with the shrine's caretakers if rumors were to spread amongst the people around who hear of this that were not explained about the situation due to a simple mishap.

After thinking about it some more, perhaps Chitanda's idea to hold Oreki back was a good one after all. If they shouted for help, the commotion among the shrine visitors would definitely arouse rumors (of the only daughter of a wealthy family having improper relations with a man--unbecoming of a lady). And even if their situation were to be explained to the shrine caretakers, it would normally stop there and not explained to anyone else, which would most definately affect Chitanda's family's business with their business partners in the management of their farmlands.

...although I don't think Chitanda would have though this far ahead in that short time right before she covered Oreki's mouth.

She probably did. I mean, she is accoustumed to this :
"I'm here today representing my father. I'd be another story if it were another time or place"

Because it's not only "having improper relations with a man", it's "having improper relations with a man, while representing the family"... There is a limit to the amount of shame an old japanese family can tolerate ;)

That would mean :
a) she doesn't care about the shrine, because the was fooling around with a guy (from a low class family with that) instead of paying properly her respects
b) she represent her family
a+b => her family doesn't care about the shrine

It was cute when Houtarou checked out Erus kimono in front of her while she just smiled at him.
But being trapped and not warming each other up? That was weird.^^
Also, Houtarou was using a lot of energy there. I mean he could just have waited at the shrine as in "saving energy" or so + he wanted to shout again and destroy that shed.. Eru's slowly changing that lazy man.

Is it my imagination or did Eru smile a little bit before she explained Houtarou that the situation would lead to "the wrong idea"?

However, nice episode. Satoshi got finally the chance to "solve" a "mystery" on his own.^^
And good to see him as well as Ibara again.

We might never get a EruxHoutarou happy ending but it's still all over the place that there is something between them.^^

Hahaha, funny moment when Satoshi opened the shed and said " Sappy new year" to Oreki.

Mayaka looks great in that shrine maiden get-up, as well as Chitanda in her kimono.

I'm quite relieved this series is finally coming to an end. Means KyoAni can move onto another project and leave this waste of time and money behind.

The series had me sold at the episode 10 mark but it's gradually got worse to the point where I just want it to end. Eru is infuriating. Really cant stand her character over Mayaka who is actually a character with depth instead of a twinkling pair of eyes with a moe body attached.

Waiting to get some flak but thats my genuine opinion of this series as a whole over the last couple of episodes.
