DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Shou's childhood is the main theme of this episode... ;) Next episode: the begining of the main tournament where one of the teams where Takuma is in (well, it was automatically qualified, since they won the main tournament the previous year) ;) |
| I didn't understand what his dad wanted. I'm sure he said for Shou to become the best soccer player but I think he said something that he wanted to become the best in something, too. He didn't want to become the best in soccer as well, didn't he? Well maybe he just wanted to make the best food. Not that it is that important anyway. |

| Didn't really expect Shou to be an introvert in the past... looks like his father really did a good job to make him this loud and noisy haha So its most likely that his father has died but I wonder what actually happened though |

| Wow, I loved this episode to pieces! Never having heard much about Shou's dad before, all it takes is this one episode to love him to pieces already. What a marvelous flashback. I spotted so many small things, gestures and mannerisms Shou got from his dad – most strikingly his reassuring "don't mind, don't mind". And I practically bawled when his dad asked their idol player to sign that football. That was just heartwarming on the highest level. I did not expect Shou having been so timid in his past, but that makes it all the more admirable how far he has come. And I was honestly surprised Reika wasn't bawling at the end of that flashback too for all the parallels between her and Shou's struggle. Maybe I'm just more of a crybaby than her :D. You don't often see such great and lovable yet flawed dads on TV. Him putting that food stand in front of the stadium was ridiculous, adorable, and ultimately kind of awesome. It worked after all! Probably my favorite episode of GeK sofar. <3 |
| Great back story to Shou. I'm surprised there were no security guards present when Shou's father put the stand up. What happened to Shou's father? |
