| Mayaka, just because of the school festival arc. Chitanda's nice and all, but... I'm don't really care about those good girl personalities and I prefer when Mayaka does the eye sparkle, just because Chitanda does it a bit too much it in the anime. Though judging by favorites, I'm sure Chitanda would win the poll by a landslide just by looking at her 8:1 favorite ratio compared to Mayaka. |

| I didn't like Mayaka at first but I've grown to like her over the series, whereas Eru has sort of stayed the same the whole way through. It's probably about the same for me now. Neither of them are good enough to be notable though. |

I think it's because she had known Hotarou for so long, he is an inseparable friend of her who's been in the same class with her since their first grade in elementary school. And You could see that Houtarou treat her badly too. In example, when Chitanda said Mayaka is going to be the shrine maiden, Houtaro commented "I bet she looks bad". And I recall this happened not only once. They had known each other personality so well so it's clear that she kind of tired seeing Hotarou's lazy character as well as he tired seeing Mayaka's tsun character (they had been in the same class since elementary school! Just imagine that!), so it's natural for them to taunts to each other. They used to it. And it's a proof that they had known each other for so long to the point they tired seeing each other face all the time. You can see she treated Chitanda and Satoshi better than to Houtaro right? Well, that's just my opinion though. |

| I never liked Mayaka, I didn't find her too interesting. She liked Satoshi and disliked Oreki, these certainly didn't help. I liked Chi-chan a lot more, she was interesting and fun to watch. |
| I spent most of the anime liking Chitanda more, but after the last arc I shifted more towards Mayaka. Probably due to my fanboyism towards romance. I know the Eru x Houtarou pairing was pretty decent, but I like the Mayaka x Satoshi pairing more. |

| If I see this poll before I watch episode 22. Then I pick Mayaka. But in episode 22, I learn that Eru is not 1-dimensional... Which makes me think back to the whole show and how each event have changed her... She's not just some dumb girl with endless curiosity. (Actually, she is, but she's a lot more than that...) | After 3 episodes, I prefer Mayaka. Chitanda has a kinder external character but she's irritating. Mayaka's faces are amusing. Edit: Now that I've completed the series Chitanda is no longer irritating since she performs her job of "motivating" Houtarou perfectly, she ends up being an enjoyable character too but I still prefer Mayaka, most definitely. Both are necessary to the story. |
