THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Just watched the RAW. highlights: *The very OP is very nice. Somewhat erm.. how should I describe it? Exotic? Watanabe Shinichiro (director of Cowboy Bebop ,Samurai Champloo and the likes) composed the music. The OP is somewhat Bebop-like I guess, although not as epic. *Nice animation and character design. *Maki Yoko,a new seiyuu, does a nice job as Michiko. So does Ohgo Suzuka as Hachi. *Loli Hachi. *Hot Michiko with guns. Overall a good introduction ep,but the real story hasn't started yet. Looking forward for subs and the next ep. In a season full of indecisive "I'll give it a few episodes" shows comes a show that I have the utmost confidence in. Why you ask? I shouldn't need to explain since clearly you're blind if you had to ask why after watching that first episode. Any other show this season that has been said to be stylish just got kicked in the head repeatedly as this is truly a stylish show. Not to mention the outstanding animation and music, a surprisingly strong character focus despite the action with Michiko placed throughout, and directing that, while not up to the level of Watanabe's, still held it's own and was quite good. MOAR plz. How the world will end: "There was something about a brightest day and a blackest night...bah, I'm sure the universe can defend itself." |

What a horrible family. I felt so bad for the girl. This looks like it's going to be another great show from Manglobe. I'm looking forward to the next episode to see where things go from here. |

That was a nice episode. Very stylish. Glad that Hana doesn't have to live with those terrible people anymore. The ED song is very nice and I'm really looking forward to the next episode. |

The graffiti themed ED was great, even though it's something that's more present in the southern parts of the country. There wasn't nearly as many errors in Portuguese as I expected, as a Brazilian it was actually quite interesting to see. The depiction of our food such as the pastel the homeless guy was eating and the meals Hana prepared everyday were a bit off, but it looks like they've done some research. Another interesting bit was the name of their family, with which I think they tried to depict the race mixture that is our population, and the idea that Japanese immigrants are also a noticeable part of it. The overall setting gives a feel of deep northeast Brazil, a hot climate area where the most desolate parts are somewhat similar to the American wild west to this day. |

Wow, this is great! Great graphics/animation, great music, great characters, greatly directed. Can't wait for the next episodes ;_ ; Also, ecchi? I don't think so, it's just that Michiko is HOT. Period. |

Awesome animation and some very mean kids. I cheered when Hana beat Maria up, she so had it coming. This first episode is probably not indicatory of how this series will be, characters getting introduced on such. It seems to me that Michiko is going to be kicking everybody's ass though, she's fucking hardcore! Very good first episode. |

I don't much care for the art style. Otherwise it seems rather promising, though. I'll check out the next few episodes. |

It would be nice to see Hana at the end of the series as a grown-up woman that resembles Michiko. There is a possibility they're actually not blood-related, but even if that is the case it shouldn't stop them from making many good memories. |

This series looks extremely promising right from the get-go. If it can keep up the animation quality and build a good story in the next 2-3 episode I think we've got a definite winner on our hands. |

Goddamnit, this is the one thing I hate about anime. The shows with the sillyest of premises can turn out to be the most awsome ones, and because of this, you get dissapointed watching loads of junk hopeing to find something good. This show is pure WIN! Please kill yourself if you like Umineko in any way, shape or form! ![]() ![]() Here is the script to the american live action remake of Death note. Read it and weep. |

Wow, this was just awesome. I love both character design and animation, and there seems to be some plot other than they hook up and go traveling together. This is one series I'll definitely be watching till the end. But, WTF is wring with that family? Especially the kids. When that girl attacked with an iron I was left speechless. Sadistic brats. Hana's voice actor is superb. |

So through what media player do some of you play this video through? To play mkv format I only have VLC Player, but when they are HD like this they become very choppy. I even messed around with the cache value, changing it between 1000-5000. That didn't solve the problem, it only helped a bit. Any suggestions? |
