Just finished watching it. The animation and voice acting was horrible but if they were to remake this anime and make the story way more in depth i would actually want to see it.

I think this thread just made everyone want to watch MoD, if they haven't seen it.

If we all work together, we could drop it another digit decimal or two.

It made me wanna watch it. I could use a good laugh.

I watched MoD a while back and it's one of those animes that are so bad that it's ind of good. I always recommend it to all my friends.

Right now I'm watching sleeping with Hinako as one of those "how long can you watch this" type tests. The following is filled with spoilers so don't read it if you don't want to know what happens. So far I'm 26 minutes in and can't understand why someone would want to watch 40 minutes of an anime-girl sleeping. Oh wait out of nowhere they showed a dream of hers and now shes awake and singing a lullaby. Maybe it's one of those things you need to be into to understand but I don't see why people would choose this over soft core porn (basically what it is but boringer).

Maybe I spoke too soon though, because suddenly their was another dream sequence and then she woke up and kissed me. Maybe she's just a very light sleeper but I don't know anyone who can sleep deeply for 25 minutes then suddenly wake up and start doing random things. So so far this anime is 3 minutes of getting ready for bed then 25 minutes of watching her sleep in revealing poses then 10 minutes of trying to get her to go back to sleep then a minute long snack break. Honestly I'm getting a little sick of her not sleeping. Shes setting a terrible example and now she just fell out of bed. You know falling out of bed is no laughing matter, about 450 people die every year in the US from falling out of beds. If anything this is becoming a bad example of what one should do when going to sleep.

Furthermore I think he main character is a little too preoccupied with her weight. She's already had two dreams about it. This is definitely not a good example for young impressionable girls. At the 41 minute mark I'm fairly certain she masturbates with her alarm clock for a few seconds. I think that she may also be blind since since she attempts to wake me up but my eyes have been open the whole time since I can clearly see her.

At the very end she seems to wake up three times, in some kind of time loop. Maybe I've become stuck in a three minute version of groundhog day. Lastly I'm fairly certain that the night only lasts 40 minutes. Assuming this is set in japan than means that she went to sleep around 4am since the sun rises at 5am during the summer, (you can tell it's the summer because of the plants outside). This is definitely not a good example of a proper sleeping pattern. An average adult should sleep for 7 to 9 hours every day in order to stay healthy.

Honestly this anime sets plenty of terrible examples and I really don't think anybody who's impressionable should watch it in case they get any bad ideas about sleeping and weight. For those of you who aren't impressionable than I would highly recommend this anime solely on the exciting twist ending time paradox.

I'd sit through hours of MoD over a single episode of NGE any day (very srs)

MoD sounds like an entertaining watch.

I think Mal needs to add a bottom anime list to go along with its' top anime list. IMDB does it on their site. Some people like myself & others just like to see what others think are the worst. lol

The only reason I watched Mars of Destruction was because it was the lowest rated anime on MAL. It helped me appreciate the value of good anime.

i watched like 5 mins of it, head getting blown of was absolutely hilarious, then later "This ones definitely gone" then the girls look away disappointed as if they thought she might make it. i was almost crying with laughter xD Im no genius but i dont need a doctor to confirm that someone whos head is completely gone isnt going to survive :')

Although if im being honest that mars suit was kinda cool :) too bad a monster threw up all over its face xD

You guys have to admit: the deep and profound plot twist at the end of Mars of Destruction is life-changing. It really makes you reflect on the harm humanity has done to the Earth.

Just watched it because of this. First time I gave a series anything less than 5 in my life. Didn't know it would be this bad. In fact, I thought that the plot twist would be pretty cool after reading a review that mentioned it.

Now I'll just go bang my head a few times to fix myself up.

(Who in their right mind would use Moonlight Sonata in a serious final battle scene? That is, if that pitiful excuse for a fight counts as a battle scene in the first place.)

Mars of Destruction is very enjoyable to watch, unlike Chrono Trigger OVA. I'd rate it with 0 if I could.

Mars of Destruction is the type of show that makes me wish there was an anime equivalent of Mystery Science Theater. It's really bad - but it's the type of bad show that can still entertain you.

Anyway, more to the point of this thread, any show produced by Idea Factory (i.e. the people who brought us Mars of Destruction) is guaranteed to have a low score. They have produced the two lowest ranking shows and their highest rated series has a score of 6.02.
