Maybe this has been discussed before (or maybe even system like this exists and I simply don't know about it or overlooked something) but here goes. If a person hasn't logged in for lets say 2 or 3 years she/he would receive an email message that if she/he won't log in the next 30 days her/his account will be deleted. If a person hasn't logged in for lets say half a year and her/his lists are empty she/he would also receive similar warning message. |

No. They created the account so they can do whatever they want with it and whether they are active or not shouldn't matter. It's not like there's a space limit for the number of accounts on the site. |

I was inactive for over a year and would have never came back to the site if my account was deleted. I think implimenting this would be a bad idea. Also Linaeris it's hard to read your post because of the his/her, he/she usage. |

Actually I think this is a pretty good idea, but it probably has been asked before, and there are probably other priorities for this site, so I wouldn't count on this happening soon. |

I disagree. Some people may leave the community.. but may not have the ability to come back (As of yet). I know a friend who left a forum (is a moderator there) and just "disappeared" came back 4 years later saying that he was in school during that time. He had no intention of checking e-mails/such while he was at school because he was dedicated to studying. I'm sure people will always come back to forums after a while, so it's not like they're gone. I don't see a point in deleting inactive accounts... (Is it because a name you wanted was taken and that person isn't online anymore?.. that's probably the ONLY reason why you'd have to delete an account) |

No point. I'd be pretty pissed if I had to leave MAL for a bit cause of school and find my account deleted. You know how much of a pain it is to add the amount of anime I've watched or more? |

Pls, don't do it. I might be unable to login when my health deteriorates again (those periods can last for several years). It would be very disappointing to lose my list, friends, fc etc. What is the reason for this suggestion anyway? |

I can assure you that the MAL staff has not and will not delete accounts for a myriad of reasons including some which was already mentioned in this thread. The only exception is accounts created solely for malicious purposes such as for spam bots. |
