You don't have to. The original anime's Valentine brothers arc is much longer, mainly due to unneeded sex scenes and killing that don't add to anything. Their arc only takes up the 2nd episode of the OVA. So yes, you should just watch Ultimate. 10x better.  |

I wouldn't bother with the older series. It's not bad but ultimate is well.. ultimately better. It also follows the manga much much better. Ultimate is not a reboot/sequel ect. Go. Watch. Enjoy. |

You definitely don't have to, but I confess there's a certain charm to the original series. It had an amazing soundtrack and although it branched away from the official story, I still enjoyed it. Some earlier chapters are fleshed out a bit more, so it's up to you really. If you're interested in the first one I'd say go ahead and watch it first, then you can appreciate the remake even more. You're safe either way though. :)      |

Ultimate is the superior version hands down, though you might find some enjoment from the old series when your waiting for next ova to come out, which is what I did, when I caught up at ova 5.  |
