I'm glad that it's a retelling because one thing AnoHana does NOT need is a sequel. At the end the time that was frozen at the point of Memna's death for each character begins to move again. Who ends up with who does not matter.

BTW .. from the epilogue in the series ass-hole-kun and black-hair girl will NOT be a couple (he'll continue to use her), whereas Jintan and Anaru might (after alot of time). But watching that would just be a typical romance anime, and would certianly not be AnoHana.

If it's from Menma's perspective, I hope that doesn't mean it's gonna be a highly-original first-person perspective anime. Otherwise, how will I watch Menma rub her bum on the lead's crotch, at breakfast?

I'll watch it, I guess. Just another cash-in but I did rate AnoHana 8/10...

Awww yeah! I think I'll love it, 'cause the only deficiency in Anohana was that Menma's character was too empty and there wasn't her thoughts shown enough. It'll unify the story :)

Like others said, watching it from Menma's PoV probably wouldn't be the most entertaining (we'll see what happens, I guess) and it'd be cool, maybe even better, watching it from Poppo's view in the movie instead. I'd like that a ton.

The TV adaption was one of the most beautiful examples of completely destroying the emotional impact and great pacing of the first 10 episodes of this 11 episode anime.

Episode 11 was crying for the sake of crying and felt so fake and forced. Beauty is in brevity and the 15 minutes of crying really just got boring...
Episode 1-10 was solid and struck an emotional chord in me.

Change how the ending was handled and we'd have a winner.

Again money going towards pointless garbage . AnoHana is good, but does not need a movie, that's ridiculous. Show ended well. so stop selling bullshit.

But, K-ON...

K-ON doesn't have a plot, focuses more on the fun factor, for example music. One can simply enjoy the show for the music, but I can't say the same for Anohana because everything has been explained.

having K-On and AnoHana in the same thread... well excited for the movie (sort of, if its done well) the series was great, not sure if I will have time in college to check it out but when I get the chance I definitely will.

It's still "pointless garbage" by any reasonable definition. Not saying that's good or bad, just saying neither really tries to accomplish anything.

Menma's point of view is worth trying I guess. And it will be epic if they show how's Menma's point of view when she's about to disappear.
