GENERAL INFO:

Here it is at last! The long awaited next Anthology Project! :D
A big thanks goes to billmurderface for his great help with this and his very unique theme ideas.

Since I got so busy again lately and celebrating one year since the anthology officially started as a long term project, I decided we could have a two themed edition, where the two themes with the more votes will be the winning ones, and you will get to choose one song from each one. Also instead of 6 themes to choose from, this time we have 9 themes!!! How awesome is that now? :D
Another thing that changes this time is that you can actually vote for two themes! Yes, that’s right! You can cast your vote as you have done before normally in the poll, but you can also vote in your post. You can reveal or not reveal your poll vote, and you can only select to vote there, but that’s up to you. You can vote for the same theme twice too, once in the poll and once in your post, but don’t do multiple posts, because your other votes won’t be counted. Hope you’ll enjoy the new edition of this project and expect more surprises in future projects too. Have fun!

Every "Music Anthology Project" thread is made for fun and for everyone to explore various music themes, familiar or unfamiliar ones and expand our music horizons. For that reason, each time the themes are selected with great care, so as to have a variety of them,try to indulge all tastes, and present many intriguing choices to select from.

You can all vote each month for the current theme you want for the next "20+ Music Anthology Project". In the end of each poll the thread will be edited with the winner choice.

Everyone that votes, should post a comment underneath saying the theme they choose and why they chose that. Also you can make suggestions for the next themes.

A further description and an example or examples are given for each theme.

COMPETING THEMES FOR JULY-AUGUST 2012:

Theme 1: Guilty pleasures

Don't we all love songs that we wouldn't admit to people? Or do you scream it from the rooftops that you love the cheese? Either way if you love your guilty pleasures (and wish to reveal them) vote for this theme.

Example

Artist: Ron Wasserman

Theme 2: Feature Film Scores

Is one of your favorite parts of a movie the score? Now that's LIVE ACTION feature films everyone ;D. So...whether it's big sweeping scores from epic film or a quirky track from an indie film, if you love film scores this is the choice for you.
Examples:

Song: Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship
Artist: Howard Shore

Theme 3: Music to Keep You Awake

You're writing that big paper or cramming for your exam or working on that project for your job, but your eyes are getting heavier. What to do, coffee maybe? Nah, how about some audio caffeine!! If you keep awake when you most need it by jamming out, vote for this!
Example:

Song: Prodigy: Omen
Artist: Mt Eden Dubstep

Theme 4: Instrumental

Aren't words overrated? Ok well I wouldn't go that far, but there is sth to be said for a nice instrumental when nothing else will do. If you love instrumental music, this is for you!

Example:

Song: River Flows in You
Artist: Yiruma

Theme 5: Birthyear Music

Ok so you might not remember hearing to what was in the charts when you were born, but it's fun to look back at what was playing then. Got a favorite song from that year that you'd love to share? Are you a sucker for nostalgia? Vote for this then!
Example:

Song: You Give Love A Bad Name [1986]
Artist: Bon Jovi

Theme 6: Like the Song, Hate the Artist

Is there an artist that you dislike or can't stand, but for some reason, there's a song or songs that are just too damn catchy, you just can't help but like them? If so, and if you can stomach it, vote for this.
Example:

Song: Frozen
Artist: Madonna

Theme 7: Battle Music

Shout your battle cry to the heavens and draw swords!! If you love battle music, then vote for this!
Example:

Song: Ricochet Love
Artist: Waterflame

Theme 8: Marathon Music

Short songs are great, but sometimes don’t you just wish they went on for a min or two (or ten!) longer? Well this is for the songs that ARE that long! Any song posted for this theme must be 6 min or longer, ok? So if you love songs that long or longer, vote for this!

Theme 9: Scary Songs

So, it's that time of the year for scary stuff!! Well, actually not really, but who cares?!! Anytime can be a great time for scary music. Do you love music that sends chills up your spine? Then vote for this!
Example:

Artist: John Carpenter

These are the current contestants for July’s theme. Remember that your own suggestions are always taken into consideration and usually used in next themes, so don’t hesitate to share your ideas. ;)

For further questions ask me or any of the admins to help you. But first be sure to read well the descriptions and watch the examples.
