"Reader Tess has alerted me to "The Story of Jess & Russ," a wedding website so remarkably twee, it's like two Wes Anderson movies started fucking each other."

Article: http://gawker.com/5930215/the-worlds-most-hipster-wedding-announcement-may-justify-outlawing-love

Wedding announcement website: http://jessandruss.us/

Article isn't the best, but it gets the job done. The real gold is in the site the article is mocking, I can hardly believe it's serious.

Edit: I don't agree with the article's tone or purpose, but find the site quite humourous none-the-less.

I'm not okay with the article's purpose, but I don't mind the tone.
Also, Quality thread.

Anyone get the feeling match.com paid for the site?

Haha, man. I should have known this was destined to attract the "why should I care tho" crowd. It's not about "caring", whatever that even means.
Yeezus walks.

You dont just post a thread that serves no purpose or even leaves anything for disscussion and then act like

"oh yah i knew you people would come."

then act above them. This story serves no point, people arent giving a shit because there is no shits to give over this.
"Being a fan of something is like having a penis.
It's normal to have one and it's nice to be proud of it. But for the love of god, don't pull it out in public and don't wave it in other's faces."

I'm not suggesting anyone should "give a shit", again, whatever that means. It theoretically could lead to discussion elaborate declarations of love, weddings, and whatnot. Obviously it didn't go that route, but I've never been a fan of the "I don't care response". a) you cared enough to respond b) what does it mean to "care" about something? Do you care about a cat running into a wall? No, but you'd still like to see it/laugh at it.

Edit: Also, I said "I should have known", not "I did know", otherwise I wouldn't have made the thread.

It might defeat the purpose, but the layout is actually quite nice.

He seems to like starting useless threads. How he even finds this stuff is beyond me, he should go outside or something.

Josh, you really need to look up what trolling is. That was my honest opinion of you, not a troll.

This is interesting but ultimately trivial.
Everything comes full circle eventually.

The fact it's hipster and well crafted doesn't makes it more or less valuable than any other wedding announcement page. It just miss some website award banner to makes it a bit too pretentious.

It would be funnier to find the world worst wedding page. Being arrogant and fail at it is way more entertaining.

The article was funny enough. Bashing popular/hipster people is always a pleasure. It never made anyone looks more intelligent, however.

This thread seems as useful as any other...

I sometime have funky grammar, sorry about that. If you can correct some of my post, you would be an angel.

Agreed. As a website it's terrible - most of the people going to their wedding really don't care about all that and just want to know when and where it is. Poor marketing, but great design none the less.
