| hello everyone im just a little confused. i finished watching the first season of natsume yuujinchou and it is a decent show but i dont understand where its rating comes from. it has a rating of 8.46 and the other seasons have ratings varying from 8.5 to 8.7. all ratings are mid to high 8s. usually when a show is rated that high on average there must be something rlly gud about it. im not saying this show is bad but its not THAT awesome either. so can any1 fill me in? does the show get better in the 2nd-4th season? i mean the first season was a bit repetitive with episodic mini stories. and sure there were touching moments but i still dont see where it gets its rating from. |

| another one of.... argh, why do I even bother. anyway, natsume is essentially episodic, but yes, it does get better with each season (in my opinion). my favorite is probably the third season, though a lot of people seem to like the last one the most. in short: just continue to watch or let it be. |

| Yeah being episodic, with not that much action, and a heartwarming story is what most people like about this anime. It changes a little during the rest of the seasons, with a little bit more action and characters, and more. But I believe that people change the rating when they watch the other seasons, because the other seasons affect how you see the first season. |
