I was going to watch this when it finished airing, but it's still going.

Is it worth watching? :o

For me not so much. I just don't drop it because I think there are only ten more episodes. There are definitely better soccer animes like Ginga e Kickoff or Inazuma Eleven.

Yes because Dragonball Z football is obviously so awesome...

As for Ginga e Kickoff, it is good, but the animation lack and well, it is more for young children as it plays in elementary school, if you like it to have a good plot included and don't mind light drama that would be your best bet, all three of them are quite different.

Ginga e Kickoff- Realistic, elementary school, comedy-themed.
Inazuma Eleven- Fantasy-themed, even more than Ginga for children-themed and only the 1st season is pretty good.
Area no Kishi- Realistic, light drama, sometimes skippy animation, romantic undertones and focuses more on the life other than football, still has that as the primary focus though.

I for one like this anime. Definitely recommended if you play or like soccer.
Ah, but you can skip the filler episodes - which includes the festival episode and the beach episode. Fillers are bad.

Giant Killing is better than all of them imo.

i zapped thru some episodes of area no kishi and it reminds me on one of those old soccer anime withlittle kids..

i did play soccer in a club for many years in my youth but that is about 16y in the past :)

still i gonna watch first 3-5 episodes maybe im misjudging it.

Only other soccer anime i've watched is whistle, and it wasn't very good.

To anyone who's seen both of them how does this compare, better or worse?

It's an okay anime, probably not going to have a fulfilling ending. Typical light sports anime with a little bit of drama(nothing sticks out). There are definately better sports anime out there.
