Actually, if I'm not mistaken he's the one who gave away the location of Kuro(19:50 or so), you're looking into it too much :P Of all the starts, this one was a little weird for me. At first I couldn't really get into it, but it turned itself around and was pretty good. A little predictable, but fun. I'll probably stick this out and see how this goes. |

Really nice, i took me a while that most of the episode was a flash back and he had already lived for hundreds of years at the start of the series. Is this an post-apolyptic anime? I'm getting more than enough from Casshern, i hope this is jsut normal. |

And no, he didn't live for a few hundred years, he lived for thousands of years, long enough to witness the post-apocalyptic world after a second ice age. In the manga, everything is messed up so the reader is confused because fo all the time jumps and flashbacks. Modified by wakka9ca, 10-13-08, 8:03 PM |

Avarice said: The action in this premiere was impressive indeed. I really liked the part where Benkei used the arrows to spring himself up to avoid the arrows, nice piece of animation right there. I also liked that they refined the character designs, the character designs in the manga was not very easy on the eyes. Ya the fight scenes are really amazing. I love the slow mo and camera panning parts. |

Quite possibly the single worst episodes in anime I have ever seen. Honestly, did a child direct this? No transitions, no flow, no fitting dialogue, no impact, and no intelligence. Modified by Deadpool135, 10-14-08, 10:55 AM |

The animation was great, the opening felt misplaced now, but if the show evolves into Yoshitsune(I refuse to call him Kurou) living in the contemporary era it'll fit. Another retelling of Minamoto no Yoshitsune's legend, but it seems to pick up only after he's defeated, and Musashibo Benkei doesn't follow him in his immortality I guess. I'm gonna hit the manga later. |

I liked the opening, but it did feel a bit out of place. Though, it is now Madhouse signature to have those kind of openings. The animation of the fights were insane. Story is developing. I will keep my eye on this one <3 |

This was really fun to watch. The action and camera angles were great, and the animation quality was high. Only two things to complain about: Momo-Hime said: Same here. The second thing was the camera angle when Kurou jumped off the cliff at the beginning: I think it should have tilted over the cliff and followed him down for a sec. But that's just my preference.Plate said: Also, is it just me or do they whisper a lot? It's not just you. I don't know how many times I had to raise the volume. Off to hunt for episode 2. |

Great first episode so far. Madhouse Studios sure knows how to make great anime series this season. I hope this series continues to do well, because the plot setting is very interesting. |

Considering Blade of the Immortal is my all time favorite manga this is right up my alley! Beautiful animation and action sequences and the promise of an engaging tale; yeah I'm happy so far. |

No idea what the plot is all about given that the development in this episode is just all over the place. One minute they just met, and the next have em going at it inside a tree. Well this is only the first episode so maybe they saved the actual development at a later time. Action wise, I am definitely loving the red blood :-) ![]() Nayuki_Love Scanlations, bringing bishojos to a manga near you! |

Awesome. Love the fight scenes. The graphics were nice. Somehow, it reminds me of Shigurui in this area but more colorful and textured. Seems like it's Madhouse style this season, eg. Mouryou no Hako. |

Glad to see someone else made that parallel as well. Lieila said: Seems like it's Madhouse style this season, eg. Mouryou no Hako. + Casshern Sins =] |
