Could be worse, it could have been a GT movie.

It could have been another live action movie -_-

What do you mean "another live action movie"? DB:E totally doesn't exist.

Slam Dunk and Yu Yu Hakusho *crosses fingers*

Slam Dunk Needs to be continued - the inter high matches definitely needs to be covered.
Yu Yu Hakusho - I loved the ending of the anime if they'll make a reboot of the series then I'll definitely watch it

Dbz's plot is so shallow (Compared to other battle-shonen). Do people overlook it on purpose?

All the villains want to destroy/take over the universe for no apparent reason. Major supporting characters are treated like shit.

All its good for is action. But everyone has the same powers. Yelling, and energy blasts.

Pokemon & Dbz was my childhood too, but nostalgia shouldn't make you rank it higher than what it deserves.

Well, it's the first manga that set up the concept of infinite shounen power up
So it's very obvious that the new one ( JUMP holy trinity = One Piece, Naruto, Bleach...) will have a better storyline

Anyway, what will the plot be...? LSSJ3 Broly vs SSJ3 Goku and SSJ3 Vegeta maybe?

DBZ does have a better plot than Bleach though. Bleach doesn't really have that much of a story lol.

Can't agree or disagree with this. Bleach's plot is slightly better, but it does have more holes in it. Fillers in Bleach is the worst though.

YYH doesn't need a remake IMO. It's perfect the way it's done.

Anyway, since Toriyama is more involved in this, I'm interested. Glad I didn't watch the Bardock special though (seemed like fan fiction). I grew up with him being dead in an epic manner and prefer it that way.

DB gets new life every few years from re-releases, various anniversaries, and character goods. It's not that interesting or surprsing since the franchise has proven to be something Toei will keep alive until the end of time.

Why didn't MyAnimeList add Dragon Ball Movie 2013 yet?

Here's The Latest News:

This movie was first anounced in July 2012, in the 33rd issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump. It will be the first Dragon Ball movie in 17 years to have a theatrical release, the last being the tenth anniversary movie Dragon Ball: The Path to Power in 1996, which followed the first three Dragon Ball films and the thirteen Dragon Ball Z films.

Early in July, the official website for the Weekly Shōnen Jump had already opened a "D" teaser page with a countdown to a "surprise" on Saturday, July 14, release date of the 33rd issue. The film will be directed by Masahiro Hosoda and written by Yūsuke Watanabe, with Tadayoshi Yamamuro acting as the lead animation director. In a comment printed alongside the announcement, the Dragon Ball series creator Akira Toriyama notes that the adaptation will mark the first time he has been so deeply involved in the production of an anime, in this case as early as the screenwriting stages. Toriyama also says that the film will retain the atmosphere of the original while adding small amounts of "modern flavor."
On July 14, the countdown site and official websites were changed to show Shenron, disappear, and reveal some minor information of the upcoming film, including the premiere date, staff information and companies involved in the production (Fox International Productions Japan, Shueisha, Fuji TV, Toei Animation, Bandai, Bandai Namco Games, and Bird Studio).

The Dragon Ball Z 2013 movie will be the 18th movie in the Dragon Ball anime series. To date, there have been 4 Dragon Ball movies and 13 Dragon Ball Z movies. Of the 13 Dragon Ball Z, all have been spin-offs that have nothing to do with the story of Dragon Ball Z. The new 2013 movie, however, will change things. Multiple sources have informed Saiyan Island the Dragon Ball Z 2013 movie story will be a part of the Dragon Ball Z series.

The timeline is between Dragon Ball Z manga chapters 323 and 324. In other words, Dragon Ball Z 2013 will tell the story of what happens after Goku defeats Kid Buu, but before the 10 year timeskip and the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament.

The director of the Dragon Ball Z 2013 movie will be Masahiro Hosoda, who has worked on Dragon Ball Z and Naruto Shippuden episodes. Screenplay will be by Yusuke Watanabe from the live-action 20th Century Boys trilogy and Tadayoshi Yamamuro from Dragon Ball Movie 4: The Path to Power and One Piece Film Strong World will be acting as the lead animation director. Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball Z, and his company (Bird Studio) will be deeply involved in the production of the movie.

There is a list of other companies who are also involved in the production, including Toei Animation, Fox International Productions Japan, Shueisha, Fuji TV, Bandai, and Namco Bandai Games. Dragon Ball Z 2013 (tentative title) will be released in Japanese theaters on March 30, 2013. No word for a North American or European release at this time.

Then you should check out the story for Dragon Ball Online; it's written by Toriyama and ignores all that happened in GT. It's the official sequel to the Dragon Ball manga.

Sign me up. I've always been at least a little interested in what happens during ten year gap after Kid Buu is defeated. I'm not sure if there will that much fighting, but even if there isn't, that's fine with me. As long as some of the classic Dragonball humor and adventure is intact, and I can see a bit of how the characters lived their lives.
