THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- As one if the younger people of this site, I wasn't even born when this anime came out, nor was I alive during most of the time this took place. Despite that, I decided to watch this after hearing a lot about it and liking other anime involving the otaku culture and wanting to know more about it. It was rather enjoyable to see. I haven't yet talked about the first part, but the second part al went too fast... I prefer slow slice of life. Of course I understand that in only a OVA they have to go fast, especially if they want to express the life of a person over a span of about forty years, but it made it seem extremely unrealistic. Despite that, it was quite funny at some parts, especially Tanaka's ridiculousness and the sudden outburst of our main character. Overall it was nice and I don't regret watching it, but it wasn't like I expected. 6/10 |

I can't really tell if all that has happened on this episode, or most of it, was real or just an otaku illusion. Specially with such an ending. If it really was real, then it's just silly, even for its time. It could've been an attempt to lighten things up for those who thought that their conclusions about otaku and their hobbies were too harsh. |

Well that certainly went in a different direction to the first episode didn't it. I think I would have preferred it to stay the way it was going perhaps if they'd have ended with the opening of the first company, GP. But all in all, pretty enjoyable. |

Gainax at it's best. It was cool to see certain anime references. It shows how they were important and the impact they had at the time (and still have). |
