I really hope that this is a remake that follows the manga completely. I've always wanted to watch/read this.

If its not a remake, and just a stupid 13 episode anime.

Mixed feelings, I hope this will be good if a new series

The issue is that many new seasons or series of a classic anime that air 10-20 years later or more tend to be pretty bad, I didn't like Saint Seiya Omega at all for example.
The problem is that we're currently in a moe era, and that wasn't in the nineties.

You guys are all negative about it, but it was honestly to be expected.

Since 2013 will be the 10 year anniversary since the first season finished.

Oh yes...me too, me too. Geez, if every one is like Chiba Moon...

Nah, that wouldn't happen. That would be too mean and too ridiculous.

But the Senshi are moe.

I hope it is. That would make me the happiest camper ever.
Same here!
As much as I like Sailor Moon, I also hope the transformation scenes are shorter.

Seriously, this is just amazing news.

I was 7 years old when I first watched Sailor Moon, I utterly loved it.

When I grew up I saw the Original Japanese Sub and I fell in love with the Sailor Moon anime all over again.

When I saw episode 200, I'm not gonna lie.....I cried!

I can't wait for Summer 2013!

I might as well watch it never really did finish the original one nor the sequals I watched alot of episodes but most of them were out of order because when I saw it on TV they were all messed up and I did not know the Internet existed when I watched it so I never really tried to search for it :P

People who liked them as kids are now adults with much more expendable income and a penchant for nostalgia. Whether it actually pans out with good sales remains to be seen but it can work.

Pretty cool news, and gives me some extra incentive to start Sailor Moon S.

This is like an early Christmas, but better, omg. All I can hope is that they make it closer to the manga and that the target audience is the now-20-something-years-old-fans, not kids who never heard of it. Something more mature would make me melt from happiness. All that while keeping the same voice actresses. Can't imagine my Haruka with another voice.

Oh god, is this really happening ? ;____; ♥

Sailor Moon S is probably the second best arc right below Sailor Stars.

Either way, it's really good.

I HIGHLY doubt this new Sailor Moon will have ecchi.

Good Art.....YES!

Ecchi.....probably not, remember Sailor Moon is a Shoujo manga, it's actually targeted towards girls, not guys.

Personally I love it (even though I'm a guy) because the original anime had a lot of battle scenes and the the story intrigued me.

Although, to be perfectly honest, if they're going to follow the manga, it's going to be much more shoujo than the original anime which was targeted towards both genders.

I actually enjoyed the first two seasons quite a lot and I've heard really good things about Sailor Moon S, so I'm sure I'll like it.

I read it was going to be more mature, but I still wonder if it is going to clash with the Precure.

That is one model they could follow, I guess. Precure's main audience is still young girls though, and the appeal to older fans is more of a side benefit. The question, then, is whether this revival still considers young girls its main audience. Early word is saying no, though none of it seems to be official (or at least not properly sourced).

Unless further information has been revealed, no studio has been announced. Toei is not mentioned in the original article dtshky cites, in any event. I think fiore is just assuming, not unjustifiably, that it will be Toei based on the previous productions.

Toei handles PreCure well, so while I wouldn't put them in charge of a late night otaku anime, I think they could give us a good Sailor Moon if they put the right creative staff on it.
