THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Felt a lot like Hidamari Sketch, specially in the beginning with chibi Ayumi thinking to herself. A Yuno-like moeblob character voiced by Hirano Aya will be interesting to see, though.

Laughed at Ayumi freaking out with Vivaldi in the background.

Man this series is well drawn! So four girls. I like this just like the manga! Kageyama...LOL she is so like the daring strong crazy girl, Nonomura is 100% similar to Yuno from Hidamari sketch, 50% resembles of Sae and Lizuka Takeuchi, Suzume is NINJA GIRL. I like the school...is it in a tropical State??? PALM TREES? The teacher thing was whacked but even more is how the hell did her injury heal so fast from a fall like that??

Now the teacher hates them. LOL that was stupid to break that window but clumsy is clumsy. See you in subs and now...............................................................

HIGHLIGHTS:

The punch was TOO MUCH but it's Kageyama so boku WAKATA.

The result is............................

IT all start here!

While it may seem boring for some people,(since it's hard-core slice-of-life), I found it really interesting and.... down to earth, really.
It was hilarious when Torako jumped from the second floor, and the events that followed. :D
I was editing the script at the same time while watching, so I hope my info's right. :X

This was actually quite better then what I had been expecting. The main character, Nonomura Ayumi, better yet who I take to be the main character, seems to be a pretty shy one. She's also pretty clumsy and gets lost easily. Luckily for her she runs into someone else (Iizuka Tatsui), who she thinks could help her get to her class. However, she also happens to be pretty special and gets lost easily as well. They spend a good minute walking around in circles throughout the huge campus and eventually run into Kageyama Torako and Saotome Suzume, who themselves are lost xD Seeing as I'm starting to summarize... and I'm too tired to think straight I'll just get onto my impressions of the show, rather then just this episode.

Looks like we'll be seeing a good deal of campus "activities," be it like episode one, getting lost with each other, or playing different sports, etc... this is your typical slice-of-life/school-life animu... but it's not your Lucky Star or Minami-ke... this is a comedy, yes, but it's not a parody... well at least I'm not seeing any references to other animations. Seeing as this is serialized on Flex Comix I think it'd be safe to assume this completely original content :)

Voices are okay, might notice a few such as Hirano Aya (Haruhi, Misa, Konata|Nonomura), Orikasa Fumiko (Rukia, Seras, Kaya, Sheree|Kageyama), and Neya Michiko (Rally, Hibibiki|Iizuka)... so far. Character design is good, but the faces sort of looked weird, at least in my opinion... I could probably get used to the design tho o= The general animation design is good, very good (well at least compared to the majority of shows that aired earlier this year). I was thinking I'd not like the show due to it's focus on school life... but I think this show could be pretty entertaining so I'll be looking forward to next weeks episode.

Lets see

Yuno & Ayumi

Miyako & Torako

Hiro & Suzume

Sae & Tatsui

Well the first two are indeed close in personality the other two have just small similarity.
I think I'll be enjoying this since it's like a mix of Hidamari Sketch & Sketchbook.

I agreed that Tonako looks like Miyako and Ayumi looks like Yuno. The personality Ayumi is more closer to Yuno than that of Tonako.

I see quite some potential in this and it was very enjoyable for most parts.
Also I've never seen Hidamari Sketch so I can't complain about similes there.

It reminded me more of Sketchbook Full Color's than Hidamari Sketch. Probably because it lacked signature style of Shinbo and SHAFT and because of Ayumi's hairstyle which reminded me of Hazuki from the Sketchbook. Can't say that the series artstyle very impressed me but I'm enjoyed the first episode and definitely going to stick with it.

A non-stop laugh-out-loud episode. I seem to have picked the good series(es) to watch this season.
Their class looks like it's filled with quite a few 'characters.' Interesting to see how that turns out.

Ayumi and Torako definitely gave off some Yuno and Miyako vibes but the other two are quite unique. Hearing Hirano Aya voice a shy character is a first for me. Bit weird, but I can get used to it.

This first ep somewhat interested me with its good direction, but I guess I won't finish this series since it seems to be a highschool/slice of life mix and I have a hard time with these kinds of shows. At least I like the design, so we'll see.

It was kinda fun, but nothing really great. I hope it won't be too boring after a few eps, cuz it looks like it's gonna be a usual slice of school-life comedy /:

Let's hope the characters will be interesting, cuz that's what's important in this kind of show.

Also, was I the only one who thought the OP's singing was horrible?

Well, not really fond of the style characters are drawn in, but loved the lighting. Storywise, it looks like another fun slice-of-life series. I'll give ep 1 a 5/5.

A decent episode. I liked it. Everyone getting lost together made for a fun start. My favorite character so far is Suzu. She's cool and cute.

Although Hyakko is more wacky, it actually reminds me a lot of Manabi Straight, especially the four girls.

Torako == Manabi both signaturing some sort of moving forward phrase
Ayumi == Mika
Tatsuki == Mei
Suzu == Mutsuki but not as talkative

Yeah, that is the impression I got. It is only similar to Hidamari character archetype wise, but the overall feel of the show is more Manabi like. It was allright, I look forward to watching more.

Neya Michiko, Fujiwara Keiji, Kuwashima Houko, and Horie Yui will be biggest factors in having me continue this. Otherwise, I don't do too well with slice of life/comedy shows.

The translation sucks... but I guess you could call the group "legit"... they're not "joke subs" but their release is definitely a joke >_> (and by that I mean it's just sad) ...numerous mistranslated lines, bad editing, editing the characters dialogue in such a fashion that the spoken doesn't seem to match/fit the characteristics of said character, bad encoding, weird timing, un-translated titles signs... why do karaoke which no one cares for, yet completely ignore relevant signs o_O?

As I mentioned in an earlier comment, I really feel this series is off to a good start and everyone should give it a chance :) As far as subs are concerned I'd suggest waiting for SS-Eclipse or another group to pick it up x_x

Felt more like:

Ayumi - Mikan
Tatsui - Mei
Torako - Manabi, catchphrase included in package
Suzume - Momo

I did recognize Aya, the first lines felt a little Konata-ish.

And the show is good, will keep watching.

(I swear the first part of the post was made without previous knowledge of the rest of the posts).

And lol, anyone else kinda realize all those who think this series is Bad/Boring/Dropped, has a extreme Action genre anime as avatar? :P like Bleach, D.Gray Man, Naruto, or One Piece? :3 obviously slice of life shows ain't for them.

Wasn't going to start this one (character design turned me off when I first saw the pictures), but I decided to give it a chance.

Overall, the first episode was great. Each girl was quirky (haven't watched Hidamari or the other animes listed in this thread comparing the characters) and some of the scenes were hilarious. The art still feels iffy to me, but I can live with that.

I just wanted to add that the fast forwarding of the sensei's voice at the end was HILARIOUS! I love this stuff cause it sooooooooooooo funny to me!

Other than that I suspect the little girl with the orange hair is Torako's sister. If not then for sure one of the four girls sister.

Other than that I find it weird that Kageyama can still punch teacher with the leg sprain but this is anime. Oh well then again the palm trees are quite something too.

I AM STICKING AROUND ALLLLLLLLLL THE WAY WITH HIGHLIGHTS!
