I enjoyed the flashbacks in this episode despite the anime's painful pacing. I had low expectations for this episode, I really did. And Toei managed pump out an episode which sank even lower than this. This episode's art had so many goofs(although the overall art style for this episode was pretty poor to begin with), and the animation was embarrassing to watch at times. Last week I envisioned Luffy's haki as looking so much better than that( and I didn't expect it to have top-tier animators either). One of the worst (animated) episodes ever! |

I was almost happy that there was no lengthy recap only to find that they recapped the entire episode... but the last minute or so of this episode made it feel SO worth it. I killed myself at Luffy's hero/meat analogy but the reactions of the crew were definitely better in the manga. And, to complain some more, the animation quality was particularly horrible... but Luffy's Haki moment and Hordy's face at that.. :D flame_master_14 said: Next time, on One Piece: Luffy and his crew proceed to rape the New Fishmen Pirates in each and every orifice. awesome episode don't worry chopper is going to show how fucking bad ass he gotten in two years this is hands down the best arc in a minute i read the manga but i cant wait till the real action starts lol wait to you guys see how weak these guys are lmfao  |

Hell yeah, finally starting to go into the action. Been slow so far due to the pacing and FI being slow in general but should more entertaining from here on out even with the pacing.  Where is sniper's island? It's in your heart. |

Really slow episode but already I expected, and what the hell is happened to the artwork? The characters were horrible. Anyway the end was epic although I expected more clamor from everyone when Luffy used haki. Next episode will be great and I hope full of action. How the studio decides to ration out their budget per episode is up to them, it has nothing to do with fillers. Last week's episode didn't really need to be animated that well I mean, the animation of shirahoshi crying out for luffy was just creepy. They could've used that money on the haki scene instead. You know they have their priorities screwd up when all the papague showing Luffy around episodes look better than this more crucial episode. I rather they just keep the whole show in one consistent, non-deformed, quality instead, a high here or there, but mostly flatline. Fairy Tail isn't very high budget looking either, but it is very consistent. Even the filler arcs look decent. The most recent filler arc with lucy and the clock key is a perfect way to save up money, since there's a noticeable drop in quality, but won't impact the real show and drag it out. That's the one thing I like about Fairy Tail: the fight scenes are like only a few minutes long and they don't BS around. the show never drags, although sometimes it can be too hectic and needs to slow down to build some suspense. Yeah and fishmen not weak? Yeah a normal fishmen vs normal human maybe, but as far as I can tell, the best one they had was fisher tiger (dead), Jimbei, and Arlong/Hordy (weak). There aren't really any others. They are considered prime slave material in the upside world after all, especially for the tenryuubi. Yeah this whole arc was about them being shunned second class citizens who are weak. There's all those devil fruit pirate and marine users, most who are human. Kizaru could probably wipe the floor of all the fishmen combined. ^This. A thousand times this. |

Disappointing. I'm getting tired of these lame ass random power ups that make DBZ look like Death Note in comparison >.< Maybe I should switch back to manga and get to the next arc :/  |

The Time Skip is the reasoning for any "random power ups" you are thinking of -_- This will be the first time the crew shows what they got since. This isn't some shitty random power ups. It'll be like the beginning in a way where Luffy was first introduced and easily beat Alvida and Captain Morgan (With Zoro). Although I didn't read the manga so I don't know how easy (or how hard) it will be for Luffy and Crew to finish the battle.  |

Calling haki a random power-up and comparing it to DBZ is laughable. Just completely laughable. They've been forshadowing it for most of the show. And not sure how you could get tired of them when there has been only 2 true power ups in the show through 550 episodes. Gear second/third during CP9 and Haki during the timeskip. Anything else has just been his basic techniques getting stronger as he fights stronger enemies throughout their adventure, unlike with naruto and bleach you shouldn't need to be spoon fed with training arcs every-time a character is going to get a little stronger. Loved the episode, even though it pains me to wait for the next episode to see the battle really begin I'm really excited. Luffy's haki is the most epic thing since... ever :) Can't wait to see Zoro in action though  |
