I like anime horror, because too much of today's horror seems to be monsters and serial killers jumping out of nothing in inconvenient times with something just plain disturbing occasionally. The horror I like doesn't rely on that. It's creepy and often screwed up somehow, but it actually provides something that piques my interest. On that note, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (so far) is the perfect horror anime. |

I love observing people and discovering their hidden personalities, talking with them about their problems, what they fell, what they want to do, you know... stuff like that. It's the same in anime. Genres like Psychological are my most favorite especially combined with horror or slice of life. |

I honestly have no opinion to offer in terms of the horror genre, but I do enjoy psychological anime and manga because I am a hard person to fool and affect mentally. I do agree that brutal murders and such can be quite frightening, but in my opinion the scariest things are those that aim to kill your mind... or at least make you think dafuq. "In the beginning, there was Jack, and Jack had a groove. And from this groove came the groove of all grooves. And while one day viciously throwing down on his box, Jack boldy declared, ‘Let there be house!’ and house music was born." |

I just enjoy the psychological point. Following how it goes, figuring out what the hell is going on. What's causing the problem(s). Also, I love yanderes... It usually has a very interesting story as well... Not to mention good characters Also, gore in anime is great ^ ^ ![]() |

I like psychological manga since it makes me think more than usual, it makes my brain work. I like horror cause I like blood. The story is usually complex and interesting and not something with no plot. It's also interesting seeing how different people act and how they think. It's just simply fun to watch/read :) LordKylington said: Also, gore in anime is great ^ ^ Yeah, the gore is awesome, the more the better :) |

Personally, I always loved more folklore sorts of horror. I especially love anything dealing with vampires, disregarding the existence of the sparkly ones. I really need to see Shiki, don't I? |

Cause horror in anime is exciting, like when you're watching Higurashi, you got those wtf moments and there's always secret things you don't know. ![]() |

Horror always adds some spice to anime, also it pretty much reflects the real world surrounding us. Life is not a fairy tale, we cannot live in blindness we can't fake, truth must be confronted despite how bitter it might be. ![]() |

Not only vampires, but getting to see an entire town lose it's mind... it's just amazing. Like an entire town of Higurashi. Anyways, in answer to the main question, I enjoy this stuff because I like mysteries. I like to think, I like to learn, and thinking outside the box is always fun. I love when you've figured out something and are just bouncing because YOU KNOW BEFORE THEY DO. And even if I can't figure it out saying "Ohhhh..!" at the end still gives satisfaction. Psychological shows are the quiet tense ones that keep you guessing and demand your attention... and I just love it. |
