Hey. Have you ever watched a TV series, movie, or even book that you think resembles any anime you've seen? I have. It doesn't need to have exact story lines or plots, just similar genres or themes (meaning of the work) would do. If you have leave a post below. Please avoid connecting adaptations. Thanks. So far: 1. Serial Experiments Lain --> The Matrix? 2. Paprika --> Inception |

I think most people will agree that Another was basically the anime version of Final Destination. |

The "Space Cowboy" Trifecta (Bebop/Trigun/Outlaw Star) --> Firefly... but everyone knows that. My first novel, Kardia has been published! Click here to read! Every time you recommend Sword Art Online, a baby seal gets clubbed. |

Yvese said: Baccano --> Pulp Fiction That's exactly what I was thinking the first time I watched through. There's also that one episode of the Boondocks that is basically a shout-out to/parody of the baseball episode of Samurai Champloo. Harems don't exist in America. If one guy is constantly surrounded by beautiful girls, then he's probably the gay friend. |

Romeo X Juliet reminds me a lot of Romeo and Juliet, but I can't quite work out why. ![]() |

GOT: Group of individuals fighting for the throne ( Said individuals have armies, but it's still similar ) What's hard to understand? Obviously there are differences, but the theme is the same; both shows have individuals fighting for the same goal which is to take the grail or take the throne. |

Umm yeah, I think your thinking of Perfect Blue >_> La blue girl is a tentacle rape hentai with magical girls lol. and yeah I totally agree with those two Perfect Blue->Black Swan, Paprika-Inception I guess Fate/Zero is like GoT, cuz of the constant frikin backstabbing, but yeah Berserk is much more like GoT in terms of setting. Some others Blade Runner->Bubble Gum Crisis Alien and The thing-> Lilly cat Ghost in the Shell->Matrix |

After watching / reading Deadman Wonderland and then watching Hunger Games...I felt like the plots were fairly similar. People find entertainment in watching other people fight to the death in a type of 'reality show'. Also, I thought it was interesting that in Deadman Wonderland we have someone called Mockingbird, and then in Hunger Games we have the title Mockingjay. |

Eh, it's because people do tend to follow some inspirational titles. They do not copy, but do follow, like in most aforementioned examples. P.S. It's anime, not animes. See, no extra s. |
