Gains are enough. Not the best but more than average. And yes, movie is a sequel to S2 according to available info.  |

And yes, movie is a sequel to S2 according to available info. Yeah, it's not bad. It's obviously no K-ON! Movie (which grossed nearly 10 times as much) but almost nothing from late-night anime is. For a late night otaku anime movie adaptation, it's probably more than good enough, especially since DVD/BD sales are likely to be very very good. I don't follow movies enough to give a great ballpark, and there aren't that many movies from late night anime before the last few years, but I'd be surprised to see sales below... 50k. And if Nanoha can sell 100k, Strike Witches could be more than 50k. BUY YUYUSHIKI BDS ALL DAY EVERY DAY |

I happened to be in Japan on holiday the time the movie was showing, so I can give a bit more insight into it. Don't worry, I'm not going to spoiler anything that happened. The movie was 100% new content, not a single moment repeated from the series. It's set a while after the end of S2. "because a continuation of the series was hinted at the end of the movie" is kinda understating it, the movie ended with the words "to be continued" (in japanese) on the screen. The movie itself did end at a proper self-contained conclusion though. Oh and the most important thing about it: IT WAS AWESOME! |
