Hi, I thought I'd make a thread for everyone to introduce themselves. Whether you just joined or have been here for awhile, feel free. We don't really know anything about each other and nobody talks much so I thought this would be a good way to break the ice per se. I'm ShikariSLD, or Kyle if you want to call me by my actual name. I reside in Canadaland, and yes it's very cold (in the winter at least). I'm 18, and just finished high school. I enjoy things such as video games, music, anime, sports, books, among other things you might expect from a someone my age. If you want to talk about anything, feel free as I will listen. And one last thing, we have a bit of a Skype chat going between a few of us, but it doesn't really get used much. If you'd like you can add me on skype (ShikariSLD) and I can add you to the conversation. We tend to just use the text chat but if you want to voice, be my guest. |

dontcallmeyomi i have a real hunger to serve others. i love being able to make connections with people, hear their stories, and participate in making their lives better in anyway. Having received a jesuit education, the hallmark "committed to doing justice" really resonates with me. this year alone, i have accumulated more than 120 hrs of service, whether it be serving the homeless meals, helping the paralyzed clean their rooms, listening to stories from former homeless men as they turn their lives around, while playing a game of apples to apples, making meals for the elderly, or delivering groceries and supplies to disabled and poor people on welfare. i find that service allows me to fill the voids of my despair as i am trapped in a cycle of disappointment from the everyday misadventures of the reality of existence. being a humanist and a member of the socialist party, i often get discriminated against for my beliefs or lack of beliefs in issues such as gay marriage and god. i live for connections though, there is no greater feeling in the world to be able to create a relationship with some random person based solely on the fact that someone truly cares for someone else. i have met many great people across the U.S. and the D.R. by traveling with different human rights groups, allowing me to generate my own happiness by feeling as though i mattered in someone else's existence. i have learned much about others in ways so unbelievable and indescribable that silence is often the best way to experience the situation. i also love radiohead they got me through everything and liverpool i have rededicated my life to something greater than myself after i attempted suicide 2 years ago. since then, i had to recreate myself, i lost my relationship with god, family, and friends. during my revival, i vowed to never let anyone go through the hell i went through alone, so i continue to strive for the best that i can offer. each day i try my best and accept my failures and shortcomings as part of the definition of who i am. since my attempted suicide and my now 4th year of depression, i have saved the lifes of 4 of my classmates who wanted to kill themselves, and i have become the definition of "a man for and with others" i do not want any accolades, i just want there to be peace and love. although this is impossible due to the failure of peoples to understand each other, i attempt to bring this realization to the world by not having any expectations and always trying to surpass my greatest enemy-myself. Love ought to show itself more in action than in words if you ever need to talk about it, ill listen. i know how serious it can get, and i plan on majoring in psychology and theology over next 4 years in college. if you ever need someone just to talk to, bitch at, or find advice, ill never ignore you go forth and set the world on fire in an interstellar burst im back to save the universe i do not slam people for religion, in fact i encourage it because it often calls its members to live for something greater than themselves. i only react when rights are ignored or taken away from others. Hi^^ I'm Miki. I'm 14, and I live in Minnesota. Umm I love music, anime, horseback riding, rollerblading, reading, and my best friend. He's like my world, I guess haha. Umm I'm an Aquarius, and yes I'm really into horoscopes. Ask me anything about the western zodiac and I probably know xD One thing that's really important to me is horseback riding. I've rode for years. But I stopped last year after my horse died because I guess it's just really hard for me to go back after that. But 2 of my closer friends ride and I support them and love to go to their shows. My best friend, like I mentioned earlier, is my world. He's everything to me. However, he's been bullied almost all his life and his father is constantly abusing him verbally. He's told me countless times that he can't stand living anymore, and the only thing I can do about it is tell him how much he means to me and hope that gets him through another day. Haha, sorry. I guess I've been rambling a bunch^^ my bad...kay bye, love you guys! |

That's pretty tough, especially for your friend. A lot of people are mean at that age, it really sucks. I wish I could have told the younger me some advice from where I am now, you know. Once you finish high school all the stuff that people say means literally nothing, because you keep going up and they go down. If you can tune out what people say and focus on what's important to you, then at the end of it all you'll be successful and they'll just be well, bullies. It's pretty hard to think that way when you're right in the middle of it though, but I think you're doing the right thing in helping your friend, so good on you. |

First off this website was given to me by a friend and since im in full time work im making my list slowly since i've seen alot of anime and manga its going to take me some time to add it all onto there. I started watching anime along time ago a friend and me ended up watching something called battle angel alita and i've been hooked every since. The same goes for manga as i started with that same anime and read the manga ver that in turn made me fall in love with reading mangas. Umm lets see im a 23 year old male who loves watching anime manga, Certain other tv shows. I also love drawing not just manga but anything in general, I also play the guitar but umm yea i suck at intros so if theres anything else you would like to know just ask away its the best thing to do lol. Oh and one last thing most of the people i know call me by the nickname Kai so feel free to do so if you like. ![]() |

Hello. Bonjour. I'm Celestial Dragon...I don't really have a nickname or anything easier for you guys to call sooo, anyway.. :D I really only started watching anime and reading manga several months ago, thank goodness I did! I always loved reading and art so manga is a great thing for me. I can't watch as much anime as I would like because it runs up the price of my internet bill.(Damn phone companies, I banish you to hell) Sometimes I have no restraint though so I end up completing a series in a day or two. Other things about me, hmmm... I like sports. Soccer, horse back riding, martial arts. I take Jiu Jitsu at the moment but I want to start taking Judo, T'ai Chi Ch'uan, and Tae Kwon Do, probably not all at once ^_^. I love animals. Right now I am working in a vet clinic and it is awesome! I'm learning so much. My favourite (no Google. I did not spell favourite wrong...this is how we do thing in Canada) band is Mumford and Sons but I enjoy many types of music. I think this club is small but cool. I may not be the most active on MAL but I want to try chatting with all of you more often. Well, that's all for now. Peace out!! ;P |

Hello everyone, my name JRT3993 or Joel if you want to go by my real name. I'm from the state of Idaho in the US and I'm 19 years old. My introduction to anime was shows on toonami and adult swim (the reason for my love of DBZ). My hobbies are watching anime, playing video games and music since I play guitar. I try to be a nice well rounded person but you can form your own opinion by talking to me if you want. I stick close to my morals and don't really hold grudges. My favorite anime is probably Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu or The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya whichever name you prefer. |
