I thought that classic cars were living things and would hug my grandpa's '66 Cadillac Hearse everynight and tell it I loved it. I also thought people played pool in the backs of hearses and that's why they were so long in the back. I believed Speed Racer really existed. |

If I got stung by a bee I would puff up everywhere and explode. All weights were just plastic things my dad would lift to look cool; dropping one on my head and giving myself a concussion wasn't. I still wanted to lift one after it though. My parents used to tell my siblings and I that everyone was skinny until they turned 65, then they somehow inflated overnight. We always kept watch on our grandpa for any changes. |

I believed that eggs from insects could hatch in your belly. Kept me from biting my nails for a few years, till I got smarter and learned that almost no animal can survive the gastric acid in your stomach, then I was still stupid enough to start biting my nails again |

I was told during this school field trip if you took pictures inside the mission church it would degrade the gold. Finding out they didn't want people taking pictures because of idiot ghost hunters. |

That men hid stuff in their underwear. I once saw my dad in boxers, pointed to his groin and asked why men had a bump there, he told me it was a secret, so I assumed he was hiding something there. I was also obsessed with death and, every night, I thought my parents are likely to be dead in the morning, so I cried my heart out every time I went to bed for about 2 years. |

Black Volga we had version that it was driven by some old guy who stinks with sulphur and after talking with him you die. What is funny is that this story reappears from time to time in media. Also that Gypsies can come to your family and exchange you for frying pan. |

Scud said: I used to be a conservative. What a silly child you must have been! BlueKite said: The past is black and white with no color I used to think that too, although oddly I wouldn't have thought that there was no colour in the Victorian era or before the existence of television or photography. I also used to believe that the moor behind my grandmother's house had Pine Martens in it. That is plausible enough, but she told my sister and I that they would eat us for dinner if we played around there. Several years later, I decided to find out for myself what a Pine Marten actually looks like. Imagine my reaction when I find out the savage creature that threatned my life as a child looks like this: Ironically I have never seen one of these animals in real life, even though I have spent a lot of time out in the countryside in the north of Scotland and they are not in the least bit rare. Additionally, no-one ever warned me about badgers and so I thought of them as cute and harmless creatures, although in reality they could actually cause me some harm and can be quite vicious. Not that I have ever seen a badger before either. They're actually rare. |
