This whole episode and bit of previous one was screaming one thing - Last Exile
not a bad thing but way that girl looks, supremacy in technology and not knowing what they want to do it reminds me of Guild.

Chiaki is back and this always good - plus it was nice to see her embarrassed, that makes her so cute (not the level of Ai but similar to Schnitzer).
Pirate Council... we'll see how it will work. Idea is nice (still what the state would say about it).

One great thing - seeing once more that crew of Bentenmaru it's not only those in command but there is lots of other folks (I wonder where they went during cosplay pirates part).
Also I liked that identity of Parabellum captain was not revealed (still it seems that both Kane and Misa may know/recognized something about him).

and additional nice detail - why Empire is building ships like this? And they want do develop them quickly - war with another schizo-tech power? I would like to see it.

The episode left off on a cliffhanger. I want to know who that girl is in the Grand Cross.

And yeah! Another cliffhanger and we once again are left waiting for the new episode to arrive next week!! Almost nothing interesting happened this episode, though I expected it eagerly.
And although no one else reacted to the name Ironbeard, Misa suddenly got serious by hearing it. And what's with Kane's perching up lock of hair? XD
Of course, I too want to know who is that girl in that strange ship. Seems like Marika will meet her face to face, judging from the preview.

Hmm. I got the opposite out of it. For one thing, we got a huge dump of historical background information as well as hints the Empire is scared of something.

I'm thinking it wasn't so much the name, as maybe the voice, she reacted to.

I expected Marika to have already worked out a plan for if they ran into the Grand Cross again. The look on her face makes me think I was right - she was actually looking forward to it.

Man, I want to play Infinite Space now....

This show never disapoints!

I figured that couldn't have been the same guy, it had to have happened too long ago. Will Marika be the one to next lead a Pirate council for the first time in many years? I do wonder.

And what is the goal of Grand Cross exactly?

And, yes, More Chiaki is always very very good ~

She needs to stay in the spotlight for the rest of the season!

i believe this is the first time that we get to see that outfit that Chiaki wears in the ED.. it kinda points out that everything is in serious mode..

this was aweome. chiaki ftw. liked how they were talkiung to the chef and spouting all the pirate stuff. then hes like "u got the wrong guy" FFFUUU haha. thought this was one of the best eps yet

Pretty nice episode if you ask me lots of information again and it got me really interesting in the next episode.
That flashback we saw of all the pirate ships heading towards that asteroid the first captain we saw looked like one of Marika's ancestors maybe her grandfather.
Seems like Misa is pretty famous as well i wonder why she was called bloody.

I am pretty certain that the girl why attacked Marika at the end knows her but i guess we have to wait till next week before we get a explanation of that.
Ironbeard seems to like his sound effects even sending them over all data streams.

Ya know a lot were suspecting that that babe could be Ririka.


Ok, so the captain of the parabellum is call himself "Ironbeard" I guessing that he's a parody of "Black Beard" and the ship is a parody of the "Queen Ann's Revenge."

I know this episode is full of information dump, but somehow the only thing I care right now is Kane's hair. I need to know the mystery of Kane's hair and why it matters

Just look at the novel. Wish they keep characters design.

Indeed, I couldn't stop thinking about that throughout the episode.
Great episode with a cliffhanger, this show is getting so good lately.
I want to see that battle so badly.

I get the feeling Kane is either related to Iron beard OR Ironbeard in some form. When Ironbeard showed up the navigator girl focused on Kane as if she noticed something and the second time when they face the Grand Cross again she remarks he "seemed happy" and they focus on that itty little fact of his hair getting messed up. Add that to a few remarks earlier in the show about how Kane is always formal and a little too straight with Marika and the few times where he did went a little crazy, and also the lots of times he's shown himself to have a LOT of pirate contacts outside the Bentenmaru crew (even more than Misa's, Kane was the one who found out someone was out to kill Marika in the last arc) and Kane right now has a huge "I'm suspicious !" neon sign on his head.

The way they zoomed in on that hair was so suspicious so that must have been important, or it was a fake planting.

Whats the mystery with Kane's hair!?! Hmm... both Misa and Kane reacted when they saw/ heard Ironbeard.

A rather good episode, it's nice having Chiaki back, I like her a lot. I'm more and more convinced that Mami is a descendant of Arashiyama. 4/5, looking forward to the battle.

IKR? That's almost the only thing I took away from the episode, despite all the other interesting info that we got. Why is his hair going "doink" and perking up?

I'm sure that Ironbeard is Marika's dad! 83
