Ominous I know this is off topic but I'm extremely curious to why you gave ef a tale of memories a 10 and clannad as an 8. Oh and as I finished looking through you're list I felt better because I saw that somebody shares my skepticism over the over-hyped series of Steins Gate. I'll admit: It gets better; but not by much. Oh and If you can power and skip around during One Piece's bland First 381 episodes then I promise you it will get better (and it might just be worth it) Modified by grandtheftsam, 06-03-12, 1:47 AM |

I've done a "little" study of philosophy and theology. For expediency sake, I borrowed them from good old Wikipedia and condensed significantly. It is a term I see kicked around without folks being clear as to its meaning. I understand that, and I didn't (meant to?) imply you did. Though I'd recommend against Wikipedia for matters pertaining to philosophy. -animeS - The plural of anime is anime. More than one deer is still deer. There is no damn "s". -epic |ˈepik| noun•a work portraying heroic deeds/adventures covering an long period of time - adjective • heroic/grand in scale or character Active Military, Prior Service, and Veteran's Anime Club http://myanimelist.net/clubs.php?cid=25937&time=1299710079 |

Baman said: Movie doesn't cover the whole series though, as far as I understand it was conceived more as a quick run through the story until it gets to where the TV series ended, which is probably where it will start getting better. I think that all depends on how well the movies do in the theaters and on dvd. Sure hope that they adapt the rest of the manga in detail, I'm fucking dieing to see the rest of the series animated. How cool would that be!? |

*A few potential spoilers -- read at your own risk* I would vote for -Kurozuka (if you love seeing humanity's hope snuffed out over and over again, this should do it) -Wolf's Rain (dystopian setting with a fair amount of metaphor mindfuck) -Blue Gender (so-so plot and art, very good characters, does have a sort of happy ending though for the main couple, which may not be your thing) -Gunslinger Girl (skip the anime and read the manga, become depressed) Gilgamesh would also fit, although I can't really endorse its quality. |

Solid replies, all. I'd add Fate/Zero to the list, due to its relentless destruction of all optimistic philosophies. Check my thread on this topic: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=459043 |
